Default Having Trouble in Vaults

I have been having trouble in vualts with the first name, we can beat him but it usally ends in a few deaths. I was wondering what the best way to fight him is. Some of the problems we have been having are, once he gets down to 66% and we stop attacking him, his health regens and then were back to getting him down to 66% again and doing it all over. I have tried to get everyone out of the room and keep the healers at max range and fight through it but im out of mana and makes it hard to keep aggro. I guess I was hoping someone had any other ideas or could share what works best for them.

Sounds like you're lacking DPS. Focus on making the fight as short as possible. Fights that stall are never going to be any good.

We just DPS the crap out of the mob and fight through it.

If push comes to shove, when you're just about out of mana and the mob's almost dead anyway, pop reinforcement. Don't need mana to hold aggro then, and by the time reinforcement is off, the mob should be dead.

If members of your group are dying because they're being stupid, you can't solve that - but, if you have a healer worth a damn it shouldn't be a problem. Sentry watch might come in handy for you on this fight when you see people about to die...

But yeah, focus on killing as fast as possible to lessen problems.

The conservative approach is to make sure you have power regen for group. Use no DOTs, no reactive damage procs on you. Stop attacking at 66%. Resume after chant. Stop attacking at 33%, resume and kill. Everyone should have enough power to get through the fight. And saving your mit buffs, block, etc for later in the fight helps when power is low.

If you read the buff you'll notice it says that he roots himself when he does his stoneskin deal/AE. Pull him to the far side of the room and just have your group and yourself run out of the room at 66 and 33. I trio'd this zone many times getting my Ganak's Torque, so DPS is definately not an issue.

I tried it out again today. It went real well. No one died and we killed him on the first try. We all went in but the healer who stay at max range. We beat him down to 66% and then everyone but me left the room. Once the sheild was down they came back in and did the same at 33%. Fight didnt take but a couple mins Thanks a lot for the help.

Most people having issues with this mob are using the brute force method.

Pull him to the furthest corner in room and everyone including MT should leave just before 66% and 33% and come back after 10-15 seconds.

I've never bothered to come up with a strat vs this guy; I always just run up to him and pound his face with ~98% success.

usually no one ever leaves him, we're too lazy to joust his power drains and never really have any issues. sometimes it takes longer when the healer/DPS is out of power but all tanks have the tools to take the hits even when their battery is almost empty.

Theres multiple versions of the mob(whether intended or not). There are times he can and will instantly drain everyone in range to 0 power. At other times the power drain isnt even there. Some times the mob heals and will keep proc his stone skin over and over, other times its like hitting a punching bag, with only 2 breaks. If you get one of the bitch version(sounds like you had one) best way is to root him in place at 66% and run for it, regen power and go back in. If you get one of the sad pathetic versions just pound it into the ground, stop attacking at the 66 and 33% marks, and he'll die just fine.

i've noticed the stoneskin layer and stay up for a good 30 seconds before but never noticed any bugs with his power drain. if you're getting drain for almost full power with the first stoneskin then you have to think of your group makeup and how that affects an encounter vs calling something bugged. with the right group makeup and skilled players you can go in, not joust and come out with a good 50%+ of your power left to spare.
