INT affects the damage of procs - CoB, etc. Most Guardians are well below the soft cap in INT, so the extra 32 points is probably worth taking. It won't make a big difference, but then again neither will the resist adorns.

I am not sure whether they changed it, but I remember at least in the case of CoB the int of the target (you) doesnt affect the proc damage, it is the STR (not the INT) of the caster (Dirge) affecting it.

I believe that INT affects the damage shield from the adornments. Atleast it did in t7.

Who actually uses those adornments?

Perhaps I am mistaken about all proc damage being governed by INT / Spell Crit - I haven't tested everything out there. My Conuror's Magma Seed (melee only) is INT based, as is my Fury's Fae Flames (melee only), and Inquisitor's Act of War (melee / spell). Scout poisons are INT based. Blade Chime is disease damage and crits based on spell crit, so it just seems odd to me that CoB would be a STR based proc.

Yeah - the mechanics are strange... But I remember a discussion on the dirge boards about it last year where they came to that conclusion after extensive testing.

I am too lazy to search though And as I said, I don't know whether they "fixed"/"nerfed"/"balanced" it since then.

My 2 cents worth... flame if you want... but hey its all about discussion right?

+parry to the forarms is nearly worthless as your parry skill will be so damn high raiding anyway that the +vs crsh/slsh/pierce does more for you.

Also, if you are well geared, your STA should be so damn high that +STA on pants wont do as much for you as +STR.

Cloak - Power regen... having too much power only hurts you in one fight that I can think of

I was all about the +power on head for the longest time. I'd say the +100 power or +WIS are both good. +WIS, since you have low WIS, will give you a bump on your resists. +Power is nice, but hopefully you've got enough power regen from Dirge/Coer/Cloak Adorn that you're not really having power issues. +WIS wins in my book.

I'm having trouble following some of your logic...so with buffs you'll be so far into dim returns for parry that you prefer the mitigation adorns...which you should already be so far into dim returns for probably before buffs those will make even less difference.

IMO again you're so far into dim returns neither one makes a huge difference, but Sta is buffed by fewer classes than Str and more HPs is always better when tanking so to me Sta wins.

Well... MT buffed...

STA is ~1200 and STR is ~1100... STR is doing more for me than STA at that point... even thogh both a pretty much not doing much by that time with caps being at what... like about 1220.

Parry skill is ~520 (a little under but still sitting close to cap) and the +parry adornment adds like .1% avoidance... and its contested at that. The +crsh/slsh/prce, I'll have to double check as its been a long time, I think added like .5% mitigation. Either way, neither is great, but based on logged data the mitigation appeared to be doing more for me than the contested skill so close to cap.\

I checked your guild to see Guardian gear and I see that the +STA and +parry may be more beneficial to your guardians for now, but in the end it wont be. I guess it all depends on where you are with gear and relative to caps.

All valid reasoning honestly, at the time this post was made it was still very early in the expansion and just had been necro'd up.
