Default Just swapped to Buckler

Hey Folks, ran our first PR instance the other day and got a Virtue's Guard. I immediately went to my AA mirror and swapped to the Buckler line I had pre set. At work, so not in front of me, but I believe the AA setup I have is:

STR 4-4-8

STA 4-4-8-8-2

INT 4-6-8-8-2

This seems to be pretty good as I believe I am now doing equal to or more DPS than I was when dual wielding p However, I am having withdrawals from the AGI line....lol

Mainly I kinda felt naked without the blue back AE and Dragoon's reflexes which I sadly grew so accustomed to saving my arse.

Guess what I am wondering is there a Buckler line that is good where you can keep some of the AGI line or will it hurt the overall DPS?

Thanks in advance.

I felt the same, I was always Towershield and when I got the VG I switched.

Took me quite a few plat to get it figured out to where I am comfortable and am now hitting 2500-3k on T1&T2 trash in RoK.

Str 4-4-8
Agi 4-1
Sta 4-4-8-8
Int 4-7-8-3-1

I was worried about being damaged and spiking more but my healers rock. Actually my Mit did not drop by much, was at soft cap I guess and my Avoidance is now up to 69% Raid buff.

I also recieved the Wrathbringer shoulders and my parry is hitting 30%. Block may be low but it does not seem to be hurting us raiding at all.

Hrmm thanks guys, some food for thought there. So, I guess a choice between keeping Parry and a tiny boost to self haste or keeping the lower recast times for CA's with the blue back AE to use with reinforcement.

Both seem like they would be good, guess I have to decide which is more important to me, more DPS or more survivability....tough one lol

/opens LoN tin foil and receives ingame loot of being allowed to have 160 AA!

Dont forget to add in Sta-D with your VG's block % when calculating uncontested avoidance.

Only 3-4 shields in game are better than VG atm.

Just more food for your thought.

Tower Spec Self Buffed:

Str 4-4-8
Agil 4-6-4-8-1
Int 4-7-8-8-1

Avoidance:10644
Base Avoidance: 41%
Block: 18.7%
Parry: 24%
Mit:4406
Mit%:54.1%

Buckler Spec:

Str 4-4-8
Agi 4-1
Sta 4-4-8-8
Int 4-7-8-3-1

Avoidance:10152
Base Avoidance: 43.9%
Block: 13.5%
Parry: 22,2%
Mit:4406
Mit%:54.1%

As you can see the +def is almost negliable. I belive I am at soft cap, but idk, not sure about the calculations. All i know is I have increased avoidance now that I got the buckler spec and VG.

The only time I am switching out this build is when I have a tough new fight so I can use PARRY at end of Agil. Hopefully that will not be much longer.

Yeah, when it dropped and I received it, I knew it was a good buckler, which is what I have been waiting for to start using Buckler spec. all I had before was a Sarnak hide buckler p

But, I didn't realize just how sought after this shield was until I started looking around here.

Good info. man. I didn't get quite as detailed as that, but before I changed my spec I wrote down my MIT, Avoid, Parry, Block etc... on paper with Tower Shield/Tower Spec, then I changed and did the same with Buckler spec etc...

There really doesnt seem to be a lot of loss in Mit and Avoid etc.

Havent raided with it yet, but last night ran Maidens, CoA and VoES and asked my static group healers to let me know what they think and they told me they couldnt tell the difference, guess that is good.

I put my images in backward, the ones with 24% parry are from the 2nd spec, 21.1% is 1st spec.
