The mitigation is also questionable. The VP set used to have the most mitigation you could get in each slot, but with SoH there are pants and bp that have 700+ mitigation not to mention the bp having that nice proc on it. Its sad when you see a VP cleared guardian wearing the bp from SoH instead of the guardian bp. Even more sad to see high-end guardians wearing the two wrathbringer set pieces. Lots of potential stats are lost when you use the helm and shoulders of the wrathbringer set. The forearms and gloves are the only pieces of the set I see myself getting when my guild gets there for the two-set bonus. I'll get the guardian VP set bp until the indocilite bp drops in SoH.

What proc are you talking about? The SoH BP has a shit proc. And there's another reason why some people don't wear the Guardian VP BP, because it hasn't dropped. Either way, the best BP in-game is still the Cuirass of Hatred.

I'm still curious to see the difference between the new Hate BP and the old one in actual application.

The 15% shield effectiveness is going to tally to about 3.5% block. Thus your losing 1.5% block wearing it, but your gaining 150 mit~ (dont recall exact numbers at work) and your gaining the level 80 BP vs lvl 70 BP. Not to mention higher stats/hp

That is also something i'm still skeptical about, if item levels actually reflect mit, since i've put on lvl 80 BP's and seen no obvious difference in my mitigation.

Regardless of all that, i'd still test out the new hate bp vs the old. If item level actually means anything, i think the new BP is a minor upgrade over the old one. If item level doesnt mean anything, its probably a small downgrade, but still a good upgrade for those without the T7 version.

Does the shield effectiveness modifier only affect the protection of the shield, or do direct shield block mods count prior to it being taken into account?

Shield: 25% block
Something with +5% block
Item with 10% effectiveness

Would it be (25+5)*1.1 = 33% block
or 25*1.1 + 5 = 32.5% block
