Default Advice on improving avoidance

Hi guys, first post for me here and is pretty long!

Character name: Slahuddin (for eq2 players)

Firstly, this is my current setup:

With tower shield,

Running STR: 4-4-8-2
AGI: 4-6-8-4-1
INT: 4-7-8-6-1 (70/70)

Guardian Tree

5 fortify
3 wall of armor
5 sentinal sphere
2 unyielding will
5 tower of stone
Block

5 trespass
5 head trama
5 retalitory strike
5 decimate
Cripple

3 overmatch
3 infraction
5 mar
3 lay waste
Double Attack

3 rescue
4 reinforcment (63/70) still working to get the last 7 points.

Self buffed i have 56.1% avoidance (no drink or food incl.) with 52.9% mit

In eq2 player profile you may not see some items that i use as it takes time to update there but here is what i have along with the adornments i use on them.

Combat Arts: 5 M1s with others mostly at adept 3.

ARMOR
Head: Barbute of onslaught, Shined SelNok Helm +100 pwr adorn.
Cloak: Battlemasters Roquelaure,Scaled Harpooners Cloak, nothing adorned which helps stats!
Chest: Breastplate of Ravaged onslaught, Polished Deklium chest, Sand Etched Platemail, +6 of all stats as adornments.
Shoulders: Crypt Spaulders, Danak crested Pauldrons, spaulders of santification, onslaught, Spaulders of eternal sentinel all with +100 health.
Forearms: Gussets of onslaught, Chitin Patterned Bracers with +3 parry.
Hands: Radiant Luclin Ore gauntlets, Gauntlets of onlaught with +16 agi.
Wasit: Many but use Terrik's Moonrise Sash for best avoidance out of all other belts i have.
Feet: Boots of Waste Hunter with +16 sta.

Jewellary
Neck: Ganak Torque, Danak Essence Vial Necklace, Unglued alchemist amulet all with +6,10 dps adornment. Use Vial essence for better avoidance and riposte mainly.
Ears: Sarnak Earring of station, Sarnshak Earring of Jade, Droag Talon Plugs with resist adornments for all.
Finger: Reet skin fingerwrap, Band of thuuga with +100 health.
Wrist: Skleross Bands of glory with 2% parry adornment, Rune covered wristband with +16 agi.
Charm: Rilis chicken foot, Scale of leviathan.

Weapon: Fabled velarek, cardiocutter, nathsar sword. with phantom pinth as adornments.
Shield: Crested Shield of Teren Rysis with 1% block adornment, Battlement Battalion 623 Barrier, Bi'Riareos Defender.
Ranged: Warlords Long bow of defense with no adorn yet.

I have raided PR,ToT and Temple of Korsha (first attempt cleared up to twin brothers) not as MT ofcourse but definately would like to and have occasionally tanked certain parts of these zones with 50/50 success rate.

Sadly been very unlucky on raid drops and i have yet to get any T8 raid loot.

Now my question, it is clear as day that tanking RoK successfully is to have High avoidance. I see other guards not too dissimilar to my setup but they have avoidance as high as 62%. Now i know that gear has alot to do with that and the, ever so important, adornments but does AA setup help it? Im a bit iffy to go down STA line but if i do would it help my avoidance? Also what other lines should i run alongside STA.

Secondly, When i tank in offense stance i aggro way better than if i do in defense (for obvious reasons) but my avoidance takes a big hit with it. I assume if your buffed avoidance is high then the hit in offense wont hurt much. Any comments on this?

Will really appreciate your suggestions and if possible a few examples of AA setups for gp/raids.

Thank You!

3% riposte adorn for your weapon will help out.

Try to get Soulfire done, pickup raids do MMIS pretty frequently.

A good forearm item is the Elite Ya-Lei Shock Troop one, 1% riposte and 5 parry (try to add +8 parry adorn as well).

You could also switch your AA setup a bit and put more points into AGI, Defense and Parry for a decent return in numerical avoidance.

Try to get both wrists adorned with a 3% parry augment, could also try for the Shackles of the Court from Court of Korucust (6 parry).

Also completely unrelated but I would go with 5 in all your DPS increasing AA in the guardian tree rather than cripple.

I tank defensive always, offensive stance offers nothing really worthwhile. The skills make a marginal difference overall, and if you are really worried about it just get a warden.]

Also try for a better shield, and aug it with the 1% block adorn. Don't use any T7 shield either. Royal Ardent Aegis or Arcane Greatwall are good non raid options.

I believe he's recommending that every ability in your slaughtering line should be maxed. There's six total slaughtering enhancements including lay waste, so that would be a total of 31 AA consumed when taking the final slaughtering ability (the 9% extra double attack chance).

Some non-raid gear you can go after that would help your avoidance (a couple have already been mentioned):

Wrist:
LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Nak'azar Brigade Bracers
LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Shackles of the Court

Shoulders:
LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Mantle of the Jarsath Tribe

Earring:
LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Incarnadine Earring

Forearms:
LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Armguards of the Elite Yha-lei Shock Troops

Edit:
Also for shield (it's an x2 raid mob but it's outside and 1 groupable)

Thanks Furcube, one question though, is it ok to use t7 stuff at 80? For example, T7 fabled armor is not deemed suitable for use in t8 instances.

There's no penalty to using pure stat items like Jewelry. The effective mitigation of Armor will drop as you go up in level. It's hard to tell exactly where a T8 Legendary is better than a T7 Fabled mitigation-wise, but you can see the difference on your Personae screen when swapping between a lv80 and lv70 item.

That said, there are plenty of better items in T8 than the Claymore quest stuff. Those were pretty much obsolete in EOF.
