group makeup question
I can see the group makeup already of the people I would be grouping with the most.
There would be:
Guardian (me - will be 72 tonight)
Mystic 80
Bruiser 80
Assasin 80
Troub 74
Warden 77
My question is, for agro purposes, is it better to Moderate the Assasin (who has hate transfer) or the Bruiser (do they have a hate x-fer?)?
My thought is that if the assasin has a hate xfer, then the moderated dps from the bruiser and the assasin hate xfer is greater than the hate xfer and moderated hate from the assasin alone.
I hope it makes sense. Any thoughts?

Re: group makeup question
Moderate should go on the Bruiser. The Assasin hate transfer should be enough for you to keep aggro from them. Now, the Assasin will take aggro from you if they are good, but it should be nothing for you to throw down Reinforcement and a CA to get it back, then cycle your taunts.

Re: group makeup question
You should just DPS, and let the Bruiser tank.

Will there be hot hot mentor sauce on you? If not like cal said just let the bruiser tank and go dps. If mentor sauce happens, toss it on the bruiser.

Yea, with the 8+ levels difference, or even 4 levels, I gotta agree.

Re: group makeup question
Sorry, but just going DPS does not in any way help me in any way learn how to get, keep and/or control agro. For those tanks who make a tank just to screw around, giving up and going DPS is fine.
However, my question still stands. As a guild, and as friends, we are more than happy to slow down and help each other learn different things. This is one of those occassions.
I can tell you, without reservation, that I have seen some level 80 tanks who could not tank their way out of a wet paper bag. I ask questions (such as this) to help me stay out of that catagory.
So far, I think, the only acceptible answer has been to moderate the bruiser. If this is the prefered method/answer, thankyou... Othwise, if my fellow elder Guardians do not know the answer, I will be happy to do some testing to help myself and others find the answer for all to share.

Will they be mentoring you, like i asked in my previous reply? Because seriously if that bruiser is worth half a crap he will be tanking more than you. And going dps as a guard is as in its own right just as difficult as in controling agro as you say and becoming a better tank.
You have to put it all in to prespective.
If your not going to mentor what level mobs are you gonna be fighting?
Will they be orange con to you, but blue/white to bruiser? If so you have to understand all the aspects of what your trying to accomplish.
If you do have them all mentor you and level the playing field (somewhat) cause mentoring is still OP. At least then you will have a semi-balanced group that you can learn in and still have some fun doing dps.

Re: group makeup question
First, I would like to appologise. I wrote Mystic in my original post and it should be Fury.
As I am not sure if it changes opinions, I'll respond in general (to frog).
At this time, we will not be mentoring. Everyone will be whatever level they truely are.
As far as what content we muck around in (aside from quests), I am hoping to hit COA in seb, once I hit 72 (I am 8 percent from 72). After that, who knows.
Additionally, even if the bruiser ends up tanking some/most/all of the time, if I don't try for agro, I don't think I'll be learning as much as I could be.

At 80 the last mob in COA will be red to you, most of the other stuff orange(?) i totally dont remember the exact level of the mobs. But everything else will be blue to the bruiser.... do you see what im getting at? Your a guardian anyway if you really want to fight for agro just hit reinforcement / decimate and you have agro. Granted that orange con will probally beat your face in, but there you go.
Really try getting them to mentor you, and go hit something with a lower level con. Crawl before you walk.....

Pretty much exactly it.
First get to 80/140/a3d and then approach the situation again.
If you want to have fun with your friends in CoA then let the bruiser tank so its not an exercise in patience/frustration for everyone else.
