yah our combat arts really arent worth nearly as much as our auto attacks are
may not be the case on an assassin, but on a guardian it is
my breakdown of VP first wing total (its all we did in there last night and my parse was still open) i did 2815 dps for the zone and 28% of that was my slashing damage auto attack with a 74% hit rate
next highest thing for my own combat arts was seperate at 6% of my total dps...

So you say 28% of your overall dmg was from melee auto-attacks. So 62% was from CA's then? (lets omit procs for sake of argument as they should be minimal increase)

If so you just summed up my point, Guard like EVERY OTHER CLASS does more dmg with combat arts then auto attacking.

no he didnt some up your point, he just didnt explain things clear enough. About 30-40% of a guards dps usually is auto attacks, then procs given to you from other classes, then ca's. the only high dps percentage ca's on guardian are seperate,trespass and overmatch. all three usually give 2-6% of total dps each. all the rest of ca's only give <1% of total dps. Ca's account for around 20-25% of total dps.

your also wrong about EVERY other class aswell, try speaking to a rogue sometime.

You are an idiot, considering that assassins dps comes mainly from HIGH DAMAGE attacks u stupid fuck, its different than guards or serks.
As a serk about 55-65% of my dps on raids is from auto attack.
For assassins huge casting and reuse is way better than stuff that affects auto attacks.

Orly? Here's a parse from a couple threads down in the guardian section titled "Guard DPS". Read it sometime when you feel like learning something.

You think this guardian with 57% of his damage being auto attack is wasting a slot by doing 5k zonewide dps? Oh, and there are better parses screenshotted in the forum, every single one of which was done with the STA line.

The plain and simple fact is that the fastest and most efficient way to increase your total dps and eventual hate gain is by doing more auto attack damage.

Its not that hard to comprehend, Assassins have huge hitting CAs, look at assasins parses, what like 30% comes from auto attack, well guards and serks,(especially serks) have way weaker CAs. Most of our damage comes from auto attack, that is why DA, Crit, DPS mod, and haste help us way more than CA mod. Now shut the fuck up and learn somthing about your class before you make a stupid fucking post on here telling everyone how you know all this about how buckler sucks, and maxing ranged crit is uber, when you don't know shit.

Hell even look at the parse above, the hemo from the assasin did more damage than any of his CAs, as it always does, there's a prime fucking example.

I don't really get the argument here, INT and STA are obviously our 2 best lines, so why choose between them. What you choose other than them is the real question, and the answers are situational based on what you are doing and your gear.

No, it's stupid to choose anything but STR, STA, INT for raw-dps. Drop INT for AGI if you need more survivability in Tsunami or you are an adds OT for avatars, but other than that, there is no other lines to get, period.
