RE Last Boss

No problems leading up to the final boss but then getting pear shaped.
Cleared RE on my 3rd run but cant take the credit for the last boss kill as a monk from a raid guild (fully raid geared with mythical)came and left me perplexed. I lasted the duration of our ToS on 4 unsuccessful tries. The gp setup was, guard, inquisator,mystic,fury,dirge(vp geared with mythical) and assasin(vp geared with mythical) (fury dropped to give way for the monk).

What would be the right setup to go all the way? Plus so far i have gone with buckler spec, with HoM (dont have VG yet). No problems on keeping aggro, should i switch to a more defense approach with a tower shield?

Coercer or illy in group. Mezz the 4 adds and burn name. Name dies adds go away.

What's killing you? That's the first thing you should look at, and your answer probably lies there!

Im guessing its the 65k - 90 k heat dmg nuke.That is cuased useually when adds are not mezzed.

It's not the tank's fault, usually, unless you're the group leader and your strat sucks. But the tank really can't do much wrong here... either Usla is mezzed, then you cannot get the heat nuke, or she is not and the heat impairment has to be cured in time by your healers, or she (and the other adds) are up too long because your dps didn't take the adds down in time.

So, you're usually fine. :P

Thanks guys for the replies. I was not the gp leader and was told to keep the epic on me while killing the adds in order of mage,scout and tank last or which ever the add classes are. I started with Ulsa but, as previously mentioned, died as soon as ToS and block gave way. Definitely gonna go in again with mezzer.

It's doable without a mezzer, just need to make sure the priests are on top of curing the heat debuff, the scout add gets rooted and you kill the fleshscorcher first.

From my experience you are screwed if you don't have a mezzer or rooter. I can't stay alive with the epic and all 4 adds on me.

For people who are saying mez the adds and just kill the named... the healer add can cast his ward while mezzed. He healed the epic for 500k during me first time killing him. The next time we killed the adds then the epic and the fight was over much quicker. This was a low dps group, so your mileage may vary.
