Claw of Khalen over pre mythical Val'Arek

My guild is currently working our way through VP we have just killed Druushk for the first time but not killed Nexona yet so I still have a bit to go before my mythical.

I would like some advive on weapons for MT roll in VP, up untill killing Druushk I have been using my epic in about 85% of all fights swaping to Soulfire if we have been having problems. (used epic when we killed Druushk)

I got lucky and got Claw of Khalen from the killl. this has bosted my avoidance a fair amout over my Epic and is only 0.1 less than when I use soulfire, would I be better using Claw over my epic untill we kill Silverwing? And not worrying about swaping to soulfire if I am struggling to stay up

Claw gives me a much higher Base Avoidance where as soulfire gives lower base but more block

Any advice would be helpfull on what weapon I should be using in VP and atm I am tanking with Green Dragon shield, with 2 towershields macroed for use with ToS as soon as ToS is done I swap back to Green Dragon

I would absolutely use the Claw over fabled Vel`Arek.

If you used Vel`Arek vs Druushk, it will be smooth sailing tanking wise on Nexona, she does significantly less DPS (~2k for Druushk, ~1k for Nexona).

Past Nexona, you could tank with a fine steel shortsword and do fine, so don't worry about that.

And block is uncontested. The choice is clear for those tough situations where you need a little extra ummph.

you are in for a big shock if your thinking VP gets harder past nexona.. actual progression in a zone?? you must be kidding. the only hard hitting mob your guna see is the trash. maybe silverwing if you get an unlucky aoe which wipes your healers.

i tanked all of vp with the claw until i got my mythical, was no problem. took us 2 days on nex but once we got the tactic down, we can one pull her now. one-pulled the rest of the zone until silverwing and that only took 4 pulls.
