Re: AA change/adornment spec for tanking guard
3 second stun from weapon, 5 second stun from diety, buckler probably 2 second stun, not sure, boots 2 second stun, we have a CA with 2 second stun...that's 14 seconds worth of stun, mobs die in about 20-30 seconds, not to mention our taunt interrupt. Yeah...I can see how that would keep you alive when the mob can't even attack.
Level 68-72s in kp have what? About a 3 second autoattack? so you would jsut have to avoid and mitigate up to about 5 attacks, depending on how fast the mob goes down. And against an orange mob your avoidance would be shit, but depending on if you let your CAs refresh between each fight, the mob would burn a lot faster if you wait until mar, exact strike, obliterate and our other higher end CAs are up.
Personally I don't have the patience to wait up to a minute between each fight. It get's me killed often too.
Anyway, I've been experimenting with some specs this last week. Went tower spec 4485 str, 4488 agi, 4488 int and my healers are having a lot easier time healing me. Just getting used to using reinforcement, rescue and our ae root more often has been difficult for me, but I can manage aggro pretty decently. I'm up to 57.7% avoidance self buffed and still have another 10 pieces of tank gear I want for upgrades to what I'm currently wearing.

I'd seriously consider dumping points from STR-D into AGI-INT finals...

Considering why I made the spec, thinking back on it now, I don't see why I didn't dump the points into those 2. I'll try that Judist, thanks.

When you're at it put 4 points into acceleration strike as well.

Also keep in mind as a Barbarian we get an additional stun as well. The mobs in Kylong Plains rarely got to swing at me. Now in Fens of Nathsar questing, yellows four levels higher than me seem to be much stronger than Kylong Plains mobs. Hell, yellow con mobs in KP even now pose as much of a threat.
I'm sure JW and KJ will be a little tougher still. But it will not halt me in my solo ability.
