Lets say in these new AA lines we get an ability that gaves me a 2% chance to Reposte for every 1 point for 5 points. So hypothetically giving me 10% chance to reposte.

Does this reposte give me any greater chance to parry a hit, or do I have to have high parry and then parry a hit before this % increace to reposte gets considered?

No, it means your riposte increases by 10%. Meaning it goes from 25? to 35%.

Ripostes are a chance based on when you parry, base is 25% I think. Maybe it's 10-20%. I don't know.

The way you worded your question Pinski is correct. If say the AA line said 10% of all attacks are riposted, as the buckler line describes it's 8% currently, then you would have 10% uncontested avoidance.

From what I know, the Riposte x% effects are added as a seperate avoidance check not as an increase of the riposte percentage of your parries.

You can check it on your toon as well - if you equip your riposte% item your base avoidance should go up.

From the way I understand it (and correct me if I'm mistaken), the sta4 ability currently gives you an 8% chance to force a riposte, thereby forcing a successful parry in order to riposte. If what you are suggesting is a way to increase our chance to riposte AFTER we have a successful parry check using our existing parry, wouldn't that be a waste? As it stands now, you have a 25% chance to riposte after a successful parry. Considering the extremely low amount of dps (ZW) gained by riposte damage, finding ways to increase our chance to riposte without increasing the chance to parry first is a waste, IMO.

Thats not how your pretend question works if it did exist.
Let's assume uncontested avodiance is considered bad now.

Lets assume it is a straight 10% added to a 20% riposte on parry. So when you do parry you have a 30% chance to riposte. At least that is how it would work if it did theoretically exist.

Truthfullly it is really only good for bruisers.

All the riposte AAs are straight garbage and we get 3 of them. 1 in the STA line, 1 in the new Fighter line and 1 in the new warrior line.
