Default TSO Shard gear as MT?

IS there any Shard gear worth using as a raidguild MT? We just entered VP 2 weeks ago so nothing T4 available yet, only using gloves for haste so far but maybe 3% damage aborb chest is not bad either (using ATrebes Battleguard atm), Blockers bauble seems nice too in combination with a Diamond rod.

Any pointers or maybe someone even tried tanking with this stuff already

Guno,
Guardian of Beyond Divine

Well I'm no where near being raid geared yet. (My game plan is to acquire the full Void Shard sets, then replace the pieces with fabled as they come.)

Stat wise they don't seem very impressive vs older fabled gear, however I was under the impression that the Crit Mitigation would be a necessity for the harder TSO raid content.

You can get the fabled bracers, boots, gloves, and helm from fairly straightforward raid encounters that don't require any crit mit. I'd hesitate before spending any shards on heroic set pieces for these slots.

I'ed say if you are not VP geared already then sure it isnt' going to hurt. Because even the entry level raid mobs in TOS do crit a good bit according to my ACT. Any way what else are you going to spend the shards on, the TOS fable set doesn't cost that many shards any ways.

The + 7 Mitigation Increase ability is incredible. Getting the 5 piece set is almost worth it just for this ability alone. Throw in the + 3 Mitigation Increase on the Shoulders and that gives you + 10 Mitigation Increase. The Mitigation on my Hate-Hardened Greaves show at 935 but I'm also wearing some gloves I got out of the Anchor of Bazzul which give +2 Mitigation Increase so mine is at +12 right now. Here is the Mitigation on the shard pieces with +12 Mitigation.

Head = 736
Chest = 789
Shoulders = 736
Hands = 736
Legs = 789
Feet = 736

Wearing all 6 pieces is pointless since you only need 5 for the + Mit but it is still good to get the full set to give you flexibility on which off-piece to use along with your forearms. I'm currently wearing Trampler's Boots and Honorbound Vambraces to compliment my 5 piece set.

thats pointless with my bard specced the way he is as im alrdy sitting at over 7k mitigation reg raid buffed, at that point mitigation becomes worthless, however the crit mit might be worth it but i alrdy got a t2 set piece and fabled crit forearms, hoping that will be enuff for the easier stuff til i get the helm and boots as well, so far havnt needed to worry bout it the mobs havnt hit really that hard.

The mobs that drop those patterns do crit, but the crits aren't so large that you can't live through them without the crit mit. Just need your healers to be ready.

I'm keep getting pushed to get this shard gear for the crit mit, but I don't know if it's worth it. I'm currently wearing:

4 Vigilant items: Barbute, Gauntlets, Greaves and Spaulders,
Ether champions boots/bracers, (and will soon have the gloves)
I have Ring of Scale Enforcer's Breastplate.

I see the suggestions about MTing if you do not have VP gear, however I'm wondering if my shards are better spent gearing up an alt since I really like the 2 peice VP set bonus. I thought I would ask the guardian community what they think about legendary gear versus the VP set stuff?

Tell whoever is pushing you to go pound sand.

VP set gear is fine until you get TSO set gear. Legendary TSO is a waste for a tank.

By the time you're pulling mobs that you actually need crit mit on, you should have at least 2 pieces of TSO set gear that dropped from the mobs before.

Since our guild is rebuilding and we are not in VP yet, the Advanced Void Shard is nice for the set bonus imo.

Once I have access to VP gear (Leviathan should go down Sunday) I will rather have the VP set than the TSO legendary set.

I think the +Mitigation you get as set bonus is nice though - better than RoK T1-3 loot I think.
