In the current state who makes a better MT on raids: SK or Guard
I would like to get your opinions on this topic, and have some constructive input.
Currently on live servers, If all things are relative between a Guard and SK in regards to, total # of AA points 165, with TSO end AA abilities down the first two tiers, same tier gear (TSO tier 2, some TSO Raid fabled, and VP Fabled). No mythicals on either character. Obviously player skill is dependant on how well you can play the class, but lets say both players know the class well.
As a raid MT in VP and easy TSO raid zones, who holds the defiite edge currently as the MT, a guard or a SK in survivability?
Neither has a problem losing agro, but for survivability, taking spike damage, and easier to heal, who would you all say would have an advantage?

If the choice for a single target tank comes between SK and Guardian, then LU51 is a failure.

Neither. A scout can tank these zones now.

Re: In the current state who makes a better MT on raids: SK or Guard
If I read that right, you're asking which tank has the best survivability against trivial low-tier content, without a mythical?
I'm not sure if this is meant to be a subtle 'SKs are overpowered' attempt, or just a really bizarre question.
Against easy content, and trash in general, Guards are pointless, because they're a lower DPS version of a Zerker. Their sole niche is to tank the stuff that frequently wtfpwns any other tank without ToS/block/defensive minded/etc. This is a tiny role but a very important one.
So if you're wondering which class to recruit, I'd get a Guard if you have any aspirations to try and beat harder content, but get an SK if you just wanna grind gimp content. Actually, forget that, I'd recruit both unless they suck.

Re: In the current state who makes a better MT on raids: SK or Guard
Well SKs can absorb large attacks like guards with Shadowknight's furor and hateful respite (with respite absorbing any attack above 25% compared to block just affecting melee hits), as well an SK has bloodletter, so for those gay-ass double attack crits, you get an extra life to survive those. But of course guards also have sentinel sphere, so maybe absorb a big hit that was incoming or defensive midned to avoid one, who knows. On the sk mythical they can absorb an attack >60% health, but who knows how lucky u can be with that. It's prolly more up to the player on how well they use these abilities than anything. Guards are just used to being the MT so ppl will keep on expecting them to do better, but I think they're more or less the same, guards may have a little advantage.

For cheesy RoK content, I would say a SK is superior to a guardian. Once you move into TSO raiding, guardian stoneskin advantage begins to shine. In reality tho, a shadowknight still has the ability to MT, the difference is not huge like it was in previous expansions.

If all you are worried about is survivability, then I would say Guardian. Just from my experience, SKs don't really start to shine until they get more AA and nice gear than what you are talking about.

Re: In the current state who makes a better MT on raids: SK or Guard
I play both classes, and as a MT guardian for my guild I say for overall survivability guardian.
For multi encounters SK by far will shine with their procs, DPS, AoE heals,etc...
I think Pally and Zerker are going to be afterthoughts after GU51 though.

From the parse data I have seen, I would agree on the paladins. SKs seem to be putting out a good deal of threat even on single target mobs.
Though this data was before this latest test patch. Don't know about paladins, but our single target taunt is down to 4.5 sec recast and can now be cast while stunned/stifled.
