In ROK i could hold any mage or scout with no transfer in group at all give me a bard and it was effortless now in raid with good swash coercer and dirge there is nothing i can do hold against the sk in a poor grp setup, the sk are parsing almost as high as our mages/scouts, pallies have as good of one shot blocks as a guard and heal them selves our mythical proc is a Joke if it was any thing at all it would be 100% immune all the time i watch my hate meter now that we have it and when i taunt i through both single and encounter taunts together between aa's and the hate meter don't move the sk has to hold him self back so he don't continuously rip from me, i was so excited to see the changes they were making for the guards i would easily hold agro again and they quit I'm at wits end with Sony i read these forums trying to find something i may be missing but im not there seems to be nothing i can do Sony needs to get on it and fix our class,

i don't need to dps like a sk or heal like a pally but the guardian imo should be hands down king of agro and hp and we are not, not by a long shot

Sounds like your SK is a bad player and he is using taunts. No fighter should ever pull aggro off of a guardian and I typically just let them die when they do. I save my taunts to protect non-fighter classes. Let that happen a few times and he will stop.

Also make sure nobody is putting hate or transfers on the SK...that could also be causing it.

I typically parse around 8% of our total parse in raid and I'm always in the top 5. Everytime I lose aggro (which is rarely), I check my ACT and 99% of the time it's because a fighter is taunting.

Taunts are like... almost the same as an autoattack in terms of hate generated... so I don't think that's your problem.

Sk mythical proc insane aggro, and their AA with deathmarche proc insane aggro too.

A damn 4k parsing SK stole aggro from me one time on a trash mob when I was at 10k+ with hate buff etc, he said he was at like 20 on the meter then got to 100 xD


Oh and for taunts, a Sk who's not taunting isn't a good SK. Their taunts debuff the mob and the value of taunt in terms of aggro is so crap that it doesn't make the difference. AA and mythical's doing it.

Aye agree. Guards arnt broken at all. But myth could use some love for sure. Hope they fix that soon.

Nothing wrong with guards IMO... The SK ability Grave Sacrament is a little wonky right now and if the SK uses it they are pretty well guarunteed to pull aggro seeing as it is now their version of reinforcement. A really good SK is still going to likely generate more hate then a guard on multi-mob encounters but thats just life... Guards don't really have the tools for example to do as good a job as an equally geared and skilled SK against the Gynok adds. Thats why there is more than just 1 tank class.

Guards are not broken its just peoples expectation that being a guard should mean that you can do everything as well as every other tank AND be the toughest. Accept that you have better survivability and single target skills than an SK and that they have better group and dps skills than we do.
