Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
Hi all
I am currently
- STR 4,4,8,7 STA 4,4,8,8,2
and I am considering a respec to
- STR 4,4,8 STA 4,5,8 AGI 4,4,8
I think I won't miss the hate of STR4 but I wonder whether the riposte I lose when I spec out of STA4 will hurt me alot.
Any ideas, opinions or experiences?
Thanks in advance!
Hal

Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
Heya Hal. Personally i'm not a big fan of agi line unless you've gone all the way for the end skill. The reason being is that dragoon's cyclone is only worth it when you're fighting trash b/c when you're fighting a named, it's usually just a named and other times u have an OT taking the adds so its just not too useful on those fights which are the fights that matter. I can't say i've noticed a huge difference from taking the riposte off from buckler line, but its not like i've done a lot of testing with it. I'm currently specced 448 str/stam/int and i love the added haste from the int line, but thats just my 2cp.

Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
His second spec, the one he is thinking about going to, works rather well in an off tank / heroic group capacity, but for a MT spec you would want the extra riposte from stamina four and either hate gain from strength four or the haste/recovery from intelligence two.

Thanks for the replies
Here is what I have respecced to:
- STR 4,4,8
- STA 4,4,8,8
- INT 4,4,1
DT run was evil :D Happy with it from my first glance.

Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
Hey everyone!
So I have been reveiwing your specs and was looking for insight for KoS to EoF progression set up. It seems most of you guys have specced because your uberz EoF gear has your mit and avoid under control.
My guild was out for almost 7 months while we wasted our time in Vanguard. We came back in the end of june and are gonna be going after FtH next week.
EverQuest II Players
That is my guard and I unlocked permission to the acheivments. I like the reuse benefit for end of int line and the stance penelty removal from the end of the wis line. I figure while my gear is still shit I should probly stay in survivability mode, and I think accel and reuse timers has helped me keep spamming my taunts, ca's, etc for aggro. Tanked all of LaBs and LoA and the mobs could barely hurt me (seems like they have been nerfed pretty bad since I left). Going DT tonight.
So any advice for the n00b guard heading into EoF? Is my spec the best route to go for survivability while maintianing enough aggro? My parce has been low end 600 and high 1k but zone wide is about 650. I would like to bring it up but seeing as I havent been in EoF since we left the game, DPS would be useless if I just get pwned in the face when we go there.
Thanks in advance for any input.
p.s. don't bag on me too bad for my gear, I'm only a month old!

Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
The only piece of fabled EoF gear I have is Guardian set gloves... you can see my current spec above.
KoS fabled (even relic) or the legendary EoF Warrior Set is enough to bring you into the diminishing curve of mitigation.
I am still not a friend of the wis line. The end ability is kinda nice, but not very needed when you set up your MT grp right, especially as a Guard with your own +melee buff.
I would choose a more offensive spec to be honest. If you need the mitigation, you can always tank in defensive stance. At least get the crits from STR line...
About EoF spec... here is mine:
Stalwarting
Command 3
Wall of Force 3
Plant 5 (prolly changing this after the Plant nerf)
Unyielding Will 2
Stone Sphere 2
Tower of Stone 5
Block
Slaughtering
Overpower 5
Vindictive Strike 5
Blast 5
Lay Waste 5
Double Attack
Stability
Rescue 3
Reinforcement 5

Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
Oh, and some equipment upgrades that are easy to get:
Ivy-Shrouded Earring of Tunare (Orb of Tunare Signature quest line)
Sash of the Spurned (Trash Drop in Castle Mistmoore)
Mark of the Awakened Instinct (Signature quest in Bonemire)
Amulet of the Forsworn (DT access reward)
Jagged Band of the Cursed (Unrest)
Festering Flesh Buckler (Unrest - if you are considering Buckler line)
Hope that helps ;)

Thank you!
Working on the KoS stuff just havent had the time due to the grind and raid sched. Now that the grind is over I should be able to knock those out. The EoF quest upgrades you mentioned I will look into right away, kinda hard to know whats out there after being gone so long, heh.
I was all offense for leveling, and TBH I do miss the crits :/

Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
/sigh
Just when I loved my new spec, they really hurt with the hate transfers and buffs...
Here is what I have respecced to: - STR 4,4,8
- STA 4,4,8,8
- INT 4,4,1
Now, I think I have to get the hate from STR4 again... We did a quick Lyceum run yesterday and although the zone in itself was no challenge, losing aggro happened alot more often than it did normally.
Thinking about going back to Or maybe - STR 4,4,8,7
- STA 4,4,8,8,2
What do you all think?
Edit:
Oh, our MT grp normally is Guard, Templar, Defiler, Dirge, Assassin and Fury/Warden/Coercer.

Re: Best way to spend achievement points?
are you losing agro single and AE or just one of the two? if its single then u arent generating enuff personally or your tranfer needs to do more imo. did FTH last night and AE for me was the same, single target the only one getting agro was the assassin up front....hitting obliterate flay fast on inc solved that issue for the most part.
Im str-4/4/4 agility-maxed through end point with 8 points in the ae auto and stamina down to 6 points in the double iirc...forget off hand since i fubared the respec but never changed it since it didnt seem to hurt me.
keep in mind we arent doing 30k+ or anything but have many in the 2k area with my assassin in MT doing 2200-2800 and me at like 1kish with the legendary SOD one hander.
I tried int after the change and just did not like it personally, our MT set up btw was templar defiler guardian assassin swashy and dirge.
