Can you please settle another arguement for me. Which is better for a GUARDIAN tanking a SINGLE mob

Other info:-
We have not killed Gozak, Munzok, Enraged Halladan, Miragul, Ykesha or any Avatars so please dont advise me to wear items that drop from these mobs.
Normal MT group defiler/templar/dirge/coercer/assassin

I parsed the crimson helm ne night and it did only 23dps. I would imagine the extra double attack from curling horns would add more than that right?

How many people in your raid are wearing that helm? Parsing 23dps from it sounds way off. Personally if you are stable in the survivability department and you and maybe another person are only one wearing it, I would keep using crimson, and maybe post some parses.

*edit* You must be near cap on DA, not sure what the extra DA would do for you.

wear crimson helm and 6 set or set helm + t3 shoulders and 6 set

dont wear tangrin helm EVER

Crimson helm sucks pretty bad, wear the base shoulders from WoE instead. Even the upgraded crimson helm from Gozak doesn't parse worth a shit 75% of the time.

Probably depends on your definition of "worth a shit" I suppose. As a guardian that threshold is pretty low.

When I parse 400+ with it on named encounters and have broken 1k with the proc, it is "worth a shit".

It is still only 3-4% of your DPS. You are in a guild that parses huge raidwide DPS, this person isn't and that is why he is getting 23 DPS from Crimson Helm (which is basically the same proc).

It parses great on easy fights, sucks on any decent length fight or anything with a dispell.

But not to split hairs, as a guardian base isn't gonna do much for you, so the helms probably beat that anyway. Pretty much a wash either way for the OP.

Only 4%+ of my dps considering 50%+ is from autoattack that is significent dps, and I have parsed the helm on the longest fights I have accomplished in this xpac with miragul and munzok (both have dispell) and the helm parses very well on both considering your options at < avatar or even > avatar helm.

That is interesting because we had this same thread in the SK forums and basically agreed it was a meager dps gain at best. Maybe as a guard you are getting more procs somehow.
