They tend to not think of client side parsing as "proof". They have their own more reliable methods of keeping track of that data.

I say good riddens! But I'll be first to admit I now have more respect for that douche bag for saying "FUCK YOU" to SOE!

I do not know who had the idea or if anyone still remembers, but back in the day when you died you had to recover your shard. As long as you missed a shard, your stats were reduced, and you would drop a new shard every time you died until you were so weak you couldnt even move. At some point in a patch message it says something in the line of: "Rejoyce!!! You can now buy a special potion to gather your long unrecovered shards".... that was a great idea, even tho it was a bit expensive... 5 days later: "Shards has been removed from the game..... instead... rez sickness - Xp debt"

That stands to me as the most insane and crazy thing in history of EQ2 and shows how extremely quick things can change, and whoever were in charge of that whole ordeal, is one big dumbfuck.. hands down.

Or, they had two ideas - add shard buybacks or get rid of shards entirely. They decided to see if just adding the buyback would solve the problem, but if it didn't they could remove shards entirely. In other words, they had a backup plan. I fail to see how having a Plan B is somehow indicative of poor planning.

You fail to see anything wrong with anything SoE does because you are a fanboy. So of course you would be here to retort any and everything negative about SoE's boneheaded decisions of the past. SoE has a plan B alright. Relaunch the game as World of Evercraft and try to up their subscription numbers. Add RMT to the game and but the botters out of business. They can always count on fanboys like you to keep em in business.

Whatever. I have reasonable theories to explain what SOE does, you have paranoid rantings. Go away.

So are you saying this is a place for irrational hatred of SOE, where the paranoid and bitter can indulge in their conspiracy theories and trade insults?

The people who run this site have worked hard to get it established as a legitimate part of the EQ2 fan community, so people like you do this site a disservice with your arguments.

They never waited to see if buyback would solved their problems. Buybacks were added and shards went away within a week or two. That's not giving plan A a chance. It's somebody above nixing plan A in favor of his/her plan B.

The buyback were a perfectly acceptable idea. I hate that they didn't give it a real chance.
