I'd figure the seller gets to decide what its worth, you know that whole supply and demand thing. Its a sellers market right now and if the guy wants 100p for it then its worth 100p until someone else is willing to sell it lower.

I don't understand what you're saying. Please clarify. If you're disagreeing with me, and using US politics in your argument, then LAWLZ thanks for trying.

This way of thinking is what's ruining the EQ2 economy. This is a skewed and fucked idea of Supply/Demand. I understand the concept that its desired, and there aren't many on the broker. However, there's a difference between raising the price to meet s/d and gouging someone. The spell is worth whatever the buyer wants to pay, not what the seller wants to charge. That's why a master might sit on the broker for months until the seller drops the price.
I'm sure Cochy knew all along what he was gonna do, and serves the other guy right for trying to rip people off.

Re: Cochy 80 Assasin Diso-Nektulos
One thing the UI devs could do is make the duelbet window obviously different in appearance from the trade window, enough to prod your subconscious when something's off-kilter. Like an inline blue header for trade and and a red header for duelbet. Or different slot positioning.

I basically liked this part:

I can accuse anyone I want of whatever I want and claim them guilty without general court proceedings.

and then the rest of your post kinda went with that. But no I didn't want to start a serious argument based on that.
As to my opinion: anybody ripping somebody else off is low life. And that irrespective of the fact that the victim should of course have seen what's going on. But I guess he was so excited to get his hands on 100p that he would have click OK on anything.
And the argument about the language is retarded as well, considering the general level of illiteracy on these boards.

Here's a tip, if you're the one doing the trade for plat, open the trade window first, that way you don't get fucked.
There was no fraud committed here, there was only retards hitting accept without reading.

Dumb people get duped all the time in game and irl. That doesn't make it legal or right. 100pp retard tax seems a bit steep. GL with that defense if this goes to a GM. He'll lose. Funny but lame. If the dude didn't report this, then he's not only fucking dumb, he probably has something to hide and should be looked at.

Re: Cochy 80 Assasin Diso-Nektulos
Prices go up when there's one in the world, prices will go down later. This also ignores the fact that if the person had put it on the broker for 20 plat or whatever Cochy would have never gotten a crack at it because whichever random assassin of the day had gotten their 24 plat doing the Kylong quests would've snatched it up. The plat difference is what allows people that have put more time in to actually get some benefit from their time. Plat is absolutely meaningless if buyers set their own prices. In Soviet EQ2, MASTERS BUY YOU! (or is that on Antonia Bayle? hrrm)
Putting on your dumbass cap to try to validate this as a blow against the pretend economy on behalf of the disenfranchised masses being swindled out of their 1337 DPS... first you lose their right to ever spew bullshit about socialism, and second I sincerely doubt you are practicing what you preach in any meaningful way because that would have actual consequences, like you getting your face beaten in and going to jail. Cochy saw some shit that he didn't want to pay for and he jacked it, that's about as deep as this story goes.
And honestly, if you were expecting Disso to give a shit about what exploits or trade scams its members used you must be reading a different message board :P
If this guy he duped really is a plat farmer though, I think it only appropriate that the spell be removed from Cochy's spellbook, ya?

Who said it was his defense? This is my thoughts on it since some retard said to PM me, or contact me in-game. I don't give a fuck. Is it my fault? No, does it concern me? No. If you're too dumb, that's your problem, not mine.

Man, this isn't a real court of law. Why do people insist on comparing EQ2 to American life? Its ludicrous. I personally see getting ripped off as a learning experience. But that's me.
The argument isn't about language, its about a generally accepted form of bot language. Kimzar sucks at English, but he isn't accused of being a bot. Its not hard to get things set up.
Talonis, its not a 100p retard tax, as the player never lost any money. He only lost a master worth a VERY subjective amount. He claims 100p, but I say at most 30p, as Cochy originally stated. AND I'd bet that Cochy only owned the guy to prove a point, that gouging master prices will come back and get you.
Also, I'd imagine if this was reported, we'd be hearing about it by now....
