The amusing thing is that if Cochy lost the duel for whatever reason like going LD while moving as the duel timer is counting down, the guy would have made 100p and kept the master.

If this happened, I'm sure all you whistleblowers crying exploit would be laughing.

I have had people try and duel bet me for masters. I have yet to be so eager to push except. Or to stupid to notice. If people are idiots they should suffer. The best way to learn is from failure. Stupid one day leads to enlightened the next. Also i charge a 5 plat aggravation fee when they try and duel bet me.

But none of that shit happened. Cochy did screw some dumb shlub out of 100pp though. That happened. Besides, none of that would change shit except add another dumbass to the equation, and it sure as fuck doesn't justify what actually happened.

I find it very interesting how this technique in and of itself is very well documented and a universally used trick. Furthermore this trick has been commended by players casual and raider alike since its inception. This trick has been used to cause major hassles to botters and plat sellers for a long time.

Ive used this trick before personally on members of Noble Gravediggers and the Whistling Morticians, both of which, whether or not all, but for sure some and furthermore most i have interacted with have been plat farmers and displayed the characteristics of a RMT operation.

This trick when used and successfully completed, i would say, 95% of the time entraps plat farmers. The other 5% are people who in the course of acting shady paint themselves as a target for those who actively seek the destruction of plat farmers. Then while being targeted furthermore have the stupidity to screw up on something pretty obvious if you can read english.

Whoever this effected if you are a legit player, im sorry, but that sucks. You made some pretty poor decisions in the series of events that lead to your loss of the master. You did no research on an open invite guild that previously a frequently has house botter and RMT personel. Then after taking that risk proceeded to price gouge which just made it look even more obvious. The facts, if you cant already see, point toward plat a plat seller, whether the person in question was one or not. Your final mistake was having the sheer and utter stupidity to accept this.

I wouldnt expect cochy to give back anything. I also dont think the UI should be changed. At this point in time this is the only means for a legit player to fight back against plat sellers no matter what your class is.

As for Noble Gravediggers, this is a byproduct of being an open invite guild. You have created a sanctuary for plat sellers, whether you intended to or not and whether you boot them asap or not. The fact remains they run rampant within guilds such as your and this has been noticed by other people. By creating that kind of environment you have created a liability for your legit players and is a risk you take on with being the organization that you are.

If I was on Nek, and someone asked me to meet to sell them an item, I think I'd just price it at the agreed on amount in my house and tell them to go there and buy it from my broker box.

The primary difference here is that this is the first time I've heard of the "loser" (or in this case, the "loser's" friend/guildie) coming to the boards to bitch about it. This makes one think the person duped is legit, albeit stupid as a rock.

While many agree with you, I still think you'd lose if you used this argument on a GM.

Hear that, OP? Clean your house so your guildies aren't associated with the type of toons this stuff is condoned to be (rightfully) screwed by. I agree with this. Get the fucking bots out of your n00b island spam invite guild and keep them out. The fact someone actually came forward to bitch makes the assumption he's a legit player; just as Cochy probably saw the guild tag and made the opposite assumption. It's just lame and folks are saying so. Unless that master is beating like the telltale heart in his knowledge book, enjoy the free master......lame-o. That's all.
