Re: Cochy 80 Assasin Diso-Nektulos
I'd just do as Lao said. If it turns out the guy just is a moron, then mail him what the master is worth. He isn't in a position to negotiate. Period.
If "he" starts posting topics of how much of an ass you are, then generally starts blacklisting you, or at least attempting, I say fuck him, and keep the master for free. If you're going to be a little bitch about it, then you aren't going to get anything from me.

Re: Cochy 80 Assasin Diso-Nektulos
What gets me are the people saying the guy is wrong for charging 100p. What is so great about EQ2 is the power of choice. If the guy wanted to charge 1000p for the spell would that be wrong? NO! He looted the spell he can attempt to sell it for whatever amount of plat he wants. I hold nothing against someone for that.
Whatever happened to respect, common courtesy, friendliness? And before you come at me with the you're retarded this is a game bullshit, how would you feel if you had an offday and this happened to you? Personally, I am very careful when it comes to trades, but I can see how this could happen to anybody on a bad day.
I know this is a game, but people put a lot of time and effort into this game and when I see shit like this it makes me sick. To me it's not any better then scamming someone irl. I said this previously in one of my posts about one of the recent exploits but damn EQ2 people are starting to look like little WOW kids.

Re: Cochy 80 Assasin Diso-Nektulos
Mail him what it's worth?
It's not what you think it's worth. It's the amount that was agreed upon. Your opinion of what it's worth to you and what it's worth to me may be miles apart. The situation does not empower me or you to make any decision on this at all. The simple suggestion of sending him what it's worth could be the amount it would sell to a vendor, what any one person values it at or what was agreed on.
Making an accusation about someone being a farmer/botter is a lame attempt to justify a situation. We all know the difference between right and wrong. Fact is NG is a family style guild with numerous young people. The spelling abilities of that person being the only fact you stand on is petty.
Honestly, how many times has anyone seen a dual bet window? Until I started using this forum and read the Farmers section and how to screw over a plat farmer by using the dual bet window, I had no idea what it looked like. I opened one up with an alt of mine on a second account just to see one. They are exact except for the Dual Now! button thats located in the same spot as the accept button on a normal trade window. People are creatures of habbit and I personally don't think I have once made sure one of my buddies were trying to dual me instead of trade. I just go to the same spot every time and click. This situation, I'm sure was the same for the person who was ripped off.
I can't imagine the pure terror on his face when he realized Cochy was about to one shot him and he had no way out. Kinda like a bug about to hit the windshield of a sports care doing 120MPH, the last thing going through his mind is his ass.
Now take a closer look;
1. Young Person or bad speller.
2. Excited beyond belief he has a T8 Master, and has a buyer willing to pay for it with more total coin then he has earned in 3 years of playing added together.
3. Has windows open and can not see a dual staff and blue ringring, or is too excited to notice.
4. He is playing on a minimum requirement machine his graphics are too low to see it anyway, or runs a good computer with the graphics on the lowest setting to increase in game performance.
5. If he uses Ventrilo with an open mic or lives at home and trying not to disturb family members, he might have his sound turned off and can not hear game sounds.
6. He sees 100 plat in a trade window and is about to piss his pants in excitement and hits what normally is the accept button in a trade window without paying attn.
Cochy took a gamble on the situation and it paid off. He found exactly what he was looking for, an easy target and went for it. Though it was funny hearing it happened, but if it was me it happened to, yeah I would be equally pissed at myself for letting someone get to me as I would for the person that did it.
It is funny, but the right thing to do is pay the 100 plat as agreed. You can choose what's right or what's easy, but simply put: These forums are here and put everyone on an even playing field until they leave theirself open. In this case Cochy got called out on the carpet for his actions.
Finnaly......Good or bad, right or wrong, agree or disagree it's Cochy's decision on what he will do unless SOE says different.

You mean Cochy?
If the guy isn't an idiot and files a proper and complete petition then it's Cochy who is in no position to negotiate as his account will be closed.

Re: Cochy 80 Assasin Diso-Nektulos
Havent read all the replies, just glossed over the thread, but I am with others here, sure fuck over plat sellers.
The guy that accepted is a tool for not realising what was going on - however, it will be in his logs that Cochy agreed to pay 100p for the master (providing what the OP said was true).
I think if a petition was filed he might have a case if he backed up everything that occured with his log - worth a shot if he is so concerned about it.

Re: Cochy 80 Assasin Diso-Nektulos
I don't know the victim here, but I do know several members of NG. I find it appalling that some good people are getting a bad rep because one of their members was stupid enough to fall for this. (For the record, its equally bad to assign Cochy's actions to all of Disso)
I also find it disgusting that many people here are abusing the OP. The OP is the guild leader attempting to defend one of his own that got screwed. People expect the guild leader to discipline his guild when they do something wrong, but we flame them for defending an admittedly stupid guildy for getting screwed???? WTF is wrong with you people??
Every time I personally have dealt with anyone from NG they have been friendly and helpful. Its unfortunate that they have let a botter or two in, but they have dealt with it quickly when it was brought to their attention. Please don't take out the actions of one or two bad apples on a guild full of good people.
As to the issue in question, I think Sugg has it right. A young or newbish player got over excited over that much plat and hit the button as fast as he could. It was stupid, but stupid isn't criminal. Fraud is. If Cochy thought he was a botter, I'd have applauded myself. Once it was made clear that it wasn't, which I imagine happened in a flurry of tells immediately after, he should have payed up or returned the master. I don't know Cochy or anything of his record save for what I read in this thread, but that was just fucked up.
