Unless this guys was somehow hoarding all these masters and artificially creating a demand by releasing them one at or something like fucking blood diamonds i could see how Cochy could be teaching him a lesson. I'm not really sure what your trying to teach him? don't sell an item for a cost people will pay? Your argument sucks Lao.

Personally i think Cochy's full of shit he didn't bring up his crusade against stopping plat farmers till people started using it as his defense. Not that it matters, i just think he got lucky that this guy happened to be in a plat farming guild and unlucky that he wasn't a farmer. Regardless that shits shady. Considering i just read a thread where " He didn't know he was speed hacking" i have a hard time giving the benefit of the doubt.

It's a good thing he's duel-betted many plat farmers in the past, and in fact there are many threads on this very site showing him doing that to them. So, of course they're going connect the dots that way.

Unless the guy /report'd it (last 100 lines of text) then petitioned almost immediately after it happened, he'd have to get really lucky and get a CSR/GM that is willing to go through the server logs.

Exploiting the pathing of a mob is abusing pathing code that is unintended or not working properly for the mob. Duel Bet was used exactly as the feature is intended, each person puts their wager in the trade box and then clicks ACCEPT DUEL BET.

This was the use of an in game mechanic that is working as intended to take shit from the exceedingly retarded.

You can whine and bitch and moan about it all you want, but it still leaves you as being the dumb shit who accepted a properly working in game mechanic, duel bet, and then cried exploit.

Why is this such a big deal now? I remember back in t6 on my bruiser this is how I got all three of my ancients and kidney blow.. no one flipped out, they just put me on ignore.

Not that this really compares, since you can't drop masters during pvp, but you guys have no idea what great fun it is to kill people for plat, masters etc.. The dude fucked up, plain and simple.

It's not a question of morality, because quite frankly this is Everquest 2. A game. Quit tripping the fuck out.

you can say it all you want but it doesnt make it true. Your failing at the concept of ownership. He wasn't selling just an assassin master, he was selling a discovery. I think having the first on server is worth extra.

You cant even really call it price gouging. when only one in the 'world' exists their is no market value established yet. without a market value established it is immposible to gouge the price up above said market value.

price gouging would of been if the guy was buying up all the assassin masters set at 20 palt then selling them all for 40 plat. hard to gouge market prices when they don't exist yet.
