Looks like it got settled

This contact is in regard to actions recently taken from your character "Cochy" (account Station Name "") on the Nektulos server. Our records indicate that you had recently participated in a duel bet with the player known as "Dreeg," and had won the "Masked Strike (Master I)" spell as a reward for winning the duel. You had wagered 100 platinum, and Dreeg had wagered "Masked Strike (Master I)." This spell was then scribed on your character.

While the duel bet functionality does exist to allow players to wager coin and/or items in a PvP combat session with each other, according to my records, this duel bet appeared to have been done intentionally to trick Dreeg after a specific trade had instead previously been worked out.

Due to this information, this particular issue has been deemed a trade scam by CS management. As such, I regret to inform you that your account has been suspended. It will remain inactive for 7 days. As 100 platinum had been agreed to in the trade, this amount of coin has been removed from your inventory.

Should record of this behavior be found in the future, additional disciplinary actions may potentially be considered. Please be as honest as possible in future dealings with players.

EverQuestII's Rules of Conduct may be reviewed at the following link:

Might want to remove your station name.

Wow, way to go SoE CS.

Being retarded at every opportunity.

Going by that response it could in fact be maintained that any lost duel bet can be petitioned and then have the winner suspended for Trade Scamming.

WTF is Trade Scamming anyways, they have specific rules to protect people who are too stupid to read what goes into the trade window?

Trade scamming means someone agrees to pay 100pp for something and then instead duelbets for it.

congrats dreeg, and thanks for not letting him win (I know he doesn't read the forum but his guildie can pass it on).

Hey pagan, would you feel the same way if someone was tricked into signing a contract in RL with illegal provisions in it? Earlier this year they busted a pimp (in houston i think) who made his hoes sign contracts. I guess he should be untouchable too because those girls were dumb enough to sign?

All that is required for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing.

No, my point is why do they have rules for Trade Scamming in this game when the trade system is as idiot proof as possible for anyone that can read well enough to play.

As I said, if someone is too stupid to read a trade window, that is just the same as putting in 10p instead of 100p and them hitting accept too fast or not paying attention other than seeing money up there.

Not to mention that with the way their response was worded anyone who loses an item in a duel bet can claim Trade Scamming and get the winner suspended/banned.

Good Job SoE.

Sorry, but unlike what you are trying to lead that story into this for, its no where near the same concept.

Having a fully visible sign that says DUEL BET, not to mention the plethora of other warning signs that are presented does NOT mean dreeg entered into the duel bet without being warned. If he is too stupid to take the warnings, its his own fault.

But for shits and giggles:

Yeah, I would feel exactly the same way if I was behaving that stone stupid to sign something without reading it, or without knowing what I was signing for and what that required me to do.

They signed contracts to do something that is illegal there. They signed contracts stating whatever in the knowledge, or lack of knowledge of how the laws and statues work in Houston. Ignorance of the law is no defense for something that basic.

Sorry, I find both the pimp and the whores pathetic.

The pimp for leaving a paper trail that easily followed and the whores for being... whores.
