Normally I'd call this sort of thing tacky, but if this person really was a plat farmer, I have no problem letting them get ripped off. EULA be damned. However, if this person is legit and it's just a language barrier that caused some confusion, I'd have no problem with people being suspended for it.

Scamming a plat farmer is much like putting the boot to the neighbourhood drug dealer. Strictly speaking it shouldn't be done, but you'd be hard pressed to find a jury that'd throw the book at you. Taking advantage of someone that is legit isn't cool IRL and it isn't cool ingame. Swing the ban-stick.

If this guild has a rep as a bot guild then there's not much more to be said other than

If you can lose something, major or minor, due to confusion stemming from a "poorly designed" (read: similar windows used for 2 drastically different purposes) UI, then it is a bug. Someone purposefully using that bug to cheat other players, farmers or not, is an exploit. Bugs should be fixed, and exploiters should be removed. Though if SoE is lazy, they could not fix it on the grounds that you don't technically own any plat or items you have in game.

Cochy was a jackass who should get banned. Accusing someone of being a platfarmer just because of poor grammar?

I don't see much evidence of this. The victim's had an account since launch, and yet has only amassed 74 days / played:

EverQuest II Players

He's wearing junk gear, and he's proud enough of his MoA to post a pic of it. He's even paying for a couple of the station features. Plat farmers rarely have accounts active since launch, with so few days played, and I can't imagine that paying Sony for the worthless station features is common among the plat pharming community.

Cochy took advantage of a noob, then patted himself on the back for turning the tables on a 'platfarmer'. If he had any self respect he'd mail 100pp to Dreeg immediately with an apology.

No, he'd mail the amount the master is worth, first of all. This is of course after debating whether the idiot in question IS a botter or not. After all of that, there's NO reason for anyone to ask for 100pp for a stupid master. Ever. Try to rip someone else off, and get ripped off yourself, sounds appropriate to me.

You're full of shit cochy. The guys not an RMT farmer. Nothing about him, except his poor english suggests he is. You should mail him the 100p and beg him not to report you.

100 plat is not too much for a master. A few months ago, there were plenty of t7 masters going for that much or more. Any necros or guardians in the crowd wanna back me up on that?
