Words have only the power we choose to give them. If somebody chooses to call my Sicilian family wops, deigos/dagos, greasers (yes, some people call Italians greasers /boggle), guineas or what have you... I can choose to take offense, ignore outright, or embrace the word to subvert its power.

What does taking offense get you? It only encourages the idiots to continue.

I can ignore, shows I'm the bigger person... likely will bring the offending behavior to a stop if it is intended to offend. No point if the desired result is not achieved.

I can embrace it and turn the tables. "You're right I'm a fucking Deigo! Did you know Sinatra named his private jet Diego while your family was sucking cock for cab fare?"

The point is... they are just words. Recognize that they are intended to offend and deny them that power. The only power they have is if you ALLOW them to offend. I think Cochy is a fucking idiot for pushing his luck first with the leveling exploit, second with the duelbet and now with calling the GM a plat-loving Jew... but he comes across as the ass, the GM is not hurt in any way shape or form and Cochy might be learning from people's responses that he is a troglodyte. Nahhhhh... not likely, but maybe he is safe and secure in his ignorance and is beyond hope. More likely.
