Last I checked LFG owns this site, if you don't like how its ran, make your own flames site. Falco was already going to do it once when the whole "LFG sucks and is an SOE nazi" shit happened and Disso got banned enmass previously.

The truth is, while some in Disso are sensationalist, they realize that EQ2Flames is the only EQ2 site that matters and they don't have the time or the money to make something better, so after awhile of matyring themselves they'll beg LFG to unban them, just like last time.

Let me repeat, I don't control my members outside of raiding. Don't like it? Well, complain to the people you have a problem with, not to the person who doesn't control them outside of raiding.

And this is why this thread exists. At least you are honest. It would be hard to raid though if everyone was like Cochy or chatted like half your members here, in game. Sadly, that will be your downfall some day or if they ever make a movie called Dissolution and some idiot petitions your guild name to get changed.

Your guild gets shit done but is looking like complete assholes in the process now. Time to find a happy medium. There won't be one though because you don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks and thats your prerogative.

Since there was some confusion about my post and LFG's only defense was to try and pick on the one thing I was mocking him for let me clarify. I was being humorously ironic by saying naGAYfen. I even mentioned my intent the very next sentance to avoid confusion but apparently my unintelligent, uneducated, and mentally unstable wit was too much for you.

I disagree. The N word is a no-no of nuclear proportions. The F (fag) word is offensive to far less people by comparison, including all the West coast members of that group that I know personally.

The US government has extensive laws that protect racial and religious minorities that don't extend to gay people. I'm very sorry that's the case, and if it was up to me, I'd extend the same rights.

But I'm not trying to change society. I'm merely trying to operate a discussion board by moderating in the least intrusive manner possible. If I have to restrict the term "gay" and "fag" on this site, I will also then have to put a moderator in EVERY section to enforce that.

So, do you want me to put up a binding poll on this site regarding whether users are allowed to use the terms "fag" and "gay" here? A yes vote would then put a moderator in EVERY section on this site.

That is a serious question. I will let the people decide.

The last blow up of this same issue was about 6 months ago. That one was started by Itoock I believe. To quell that N word rebellion, I had to use the bad word filter on all forms of the word "jew" and "nig", and then of course every permutation, such as the forms j*e*w* etc. Of course, that created much confusion for people talking about crafting jewelry until calmer heads prevailed and we all entered an unspoken agreement to stop using the terms in an offensive way in the future.

Are people telling me then we should not allow any other type of insult against any other type of person?

How the fuck would this be a flame site if we couldn't insult anyone, including people who live or formerly lived in trailer parks?

Maybe you should put a poll up for every word you feel should be moderated or others do and see what everyone thinks. You say that fag is not offensive to folks you know personally in that group, but would you walk into a random gay bar and call someone you do not know a fag? I highly doubt it. Many people use alot of these words in there group of friends and it is not offensive to any of the members. I am not trying to say that these phrases should be allowed here, just that making it a rule that some can't be used and others can is wrong. This is a flame site and people with thin skin should not be here anyways.
