Semantically and Mechanically, these players were not transfered, instead, a GM used the Copy mechanics to bypass the transfer process, and technically, since it is NOT a transfer is not subject to transfer restrictions.

IMO bottom line is someone misused GM powers to do people a personal favor, and you are absolutely correct in that the problem is that this was done for a select group, and is not available to all on test.

Theoretically, with enough GM Faction you could quietly have a char "Copied" from PvP to PvE, avoiding that transfer restriction also.

That and since this was done outside of the normal transfer process means they probably didn't collect $50 per character transfered either, which is a shit ass thing to do to everyone else who has had to pay to move in the past.

Fairness would say you have to either kick them back to test with an apology, or charge them the normal fees and open transfers to and from test for all. But either of those coming to fruition is about as likely as a Dreeg/Cochy make-out session so all that's left now is to hear the lame-ass justification/apology that we'll be getting from SOE in about 3 weeks when they finally realize the community won't let the issue die a quiet and ignominious death.

He has mostly fabled from KoS, crap gear compared to even EoF standards but for some reason he also has Star Darkened Bracers and Mantle of Darkened Hues off of C-Mayong which I sincerely doubt they ever killed. It's just funny that he doesn't even have any EoF fabled besides they Mayong stuff, like they just skipped from KoS instances to EoF contested or something.

What I find even more funy is that this is an Assasin wearing healer shoulders. He gets no use out of them whatsoever. Are you telling me that you have had C-Mayyong on lockdown for so long that the healer gear is going up to scouts just cause no one else can use it?

I would also like to point out that this Copying involved considerable time by whoever did it.

All these characters were sanitized, items removed/replaced, this is a personal favor far beyond "Transfering". This wasn't a simple Transfer scripted event, this was time and effort spent by an employee with GM powers.

Transfer between same rulesets does not require this. Hypothetically, you could transfer with loot from a Mob killed on server A to a server that hasn't killed that Mob yet.. and retain that loot that does not exist on server B simply because you earned it in the same ruleset.

This Copy thing bothers me because a player could be sanitized and regeared to go from any ruleset to any other, given the intensive GM involvement. It breaks all the rules, and requires someone with Godmode to do it.

I guess I feel transfering is not the issue here at all, it was not a transfer, it was considerable effort and rule bending by someone at SOE showing favoritism to a certain group of people, and blatant misuse of powers to do so.

Because, DUMBASS, you still cannot "Transfer" off test. An SOE employee used GM powers to give special treatment to a select group.

The IMPACT is that a select group got GM intervention to circumvent the transfer process and SOE policy, GM intervention not available to the normal player on test or live.

If you cannot see an ISSUE with GMs going outside of SOE policy and server mechanics to give special favors to a single guild on test, or anywhere, you need to STFU and get some cognative skills going.
