SOME of the players did nothing wrong, and I do think Dysis was one of them. But he will forever be guilty by association unfortunately.

The guild should never have been copied over. Whoever was coerced into saying yes to that may have already stepped down (and no, I'm not talking about Gallenite).

What I'm most angry about: one, the players who did get copied were sitting on a live server with a lot of gear they didn't earn. It may not be the gear they are wearing now, but they got the gear they are wearing now by getting other gear by cheating. and two, the new community guy just BLATANTLY slapped the GOOD people of test in the face by saying they were doing a favor for some testers who worked hard. There are some in that guild that did work hard. There are some in that guild who cheated, and some who knew about the cheaters and went along with it, saying nothing. They didn't deserve squat.

Test server is losing some of the oldest most respected people over his UNTHOUGHTFUL and UNKIND statement explaining this fiasco. They are cancelling accounts and deleting chars as we speak, and I can't blame them. You guys may not be aware of how much they actually do for the game. No, they couldn't raid (which is why some cheated). They could do some smaller ones with cooperation between guilds but when they tell you they were raiding EOF, they mean they were attempting to raid EOF. I remember hearing about one named in MMIS that they dropped, other than that I'm not sure a zone was completed, tho I may be wrong there.

But for day to day bugs, for new content getting added to our every day game, for helping devs and quality assurance people, these GOOD testers are doing the work that you never realized because, well.. the bugs they worked on didn't make it to where you could see them. They aren't to blame for this fiasco and the new guy made them feel like garbage waiting to be collected and then he made the guild with the cheating people in it out to be stars. Hell, one of these UT guys was so desperate for recognition he'd send tells to people when they said they found a bug, then report it as his own find.

So you didn't do anything wrong, but you got something for free that everyone else has to pay a large sum of money for, and that you know is a service that is charged for.

I do not in any way agree with the copying from test. But for fuck's sake keep perspective. This is a game. A person of authority told a computer programmer to write some code.

* This isn't a police commander ordering an officer to plant evidence.
* This isn't a military commander ordering a soldier to violate his rules of engagement.
* This isn't the VP Human Resources ordering an employee to be illegally fired.
* This isn't a CFO ordering the comptroller to illegally or unethically adjust the balance sheet.

This is a game coder asked to right some fucking code.

Keep the blame where it belongs. Hyperbole, especially this ridiculous, isn't going to help anything.

I never said it was equal to ANY of those things you said. But it still stands that it was wrong, and it was done over TWO days. That person knew it was wrong and he did it anyway.
