You are assuming he believes copying one set of characters from one server to another is some sin. In reality, he flipped some switches and moved around a few paying customers. In reality, he bumped some folks in coach up to first class. He is the host that seated friends of the boss over someone else that had a reservation.

Like I said, keep the blame where it belongs. Telling some grunt to fuck off because he refused to give up his job so you would still like him is retarded.

I see your point, but what moron wouldn't have the foresight to see what the player reaction to this would be? I certainly wouldn't want to be involved even if I was just the coder. Seems to me that all of the people involved did a piss poor job.

Now, I'm not saying I would have packed up my stapler and stormed out of the office (I have a mortgage), but I would definitely be working on my resume!

That was a lot to read and I apologize if this has already been stated but...

I think this whole "act of kindness" thing and the complete ignorance of it's effects on the game/server and it's economy, just glaringly illustrate that SoE doesn't have the first clue what it's like to play their game at a high level. They don't know the politics, the competition, or the players.

Kinda reminds me of some of the US governments recent "acts of kindness".

Hi there. I finally -- after months and years -- caved in and registered for this forum so I could post.

I'm a three-year Tester and I've encountered some of you in the four expansion Betas. Way back in the dark ages (like L50 or L60 as game-wide level caps, or when KoS was new and shiny and Level 70 was a place we got to but hadn't spent time) I used to raid with Lucky and with many other of the players implicated in this. These days I'm in the alliance on Test that has Aela and her husband as our leaders. We raid very casually for fun and focus our Testing energies elsewhere in the game.

I've two things to say about this fiasco.

1.) Basically everything posted in this thread is true and correct.

2.) The above-quoted statement is not. The one remaining person from UT that I trust was actually out of town during this fiasco, and found their toon transferred and has no idea what's going on. There are a few honorable people in that guild who got swept into this mess. However, they are few and far between.

The other thing is, I was willing to ride it out until our new Fearless Jackass blamed *us* on the official forum. I'm prone to temper, I admit (RL redhead, what can I say) but I have never, EVER in three years of this game been so furious with anyone redname -- dev, producer, GM, community relations, whatever -- as I was with that post today. I think Mheryl articulated my response to that very well.

I never thought I'd find myself in agreement with all of the posters at EQ2 Flames and dead set against my own peers and server but, well, LFG's nailed it. I'm glad this bullshit is finally coming to light, because those of us who have Tested as best we are able *without* cheating are tired of putting up with the flak for it.
