As I understand it from the player members, the toons on Unrest were wiped but many of them have rerolled same-class, same-name.

I'm sorry, but we fucked up. We admit it. What we did by moving a guild off Test to a Live server semi-secretely was wrong. We should not have done that without offering the same opportunity to all players on Test, and we recognize that now and will not repeat any mistake like this or treat some players better than others ever again in the future.

We greatly apologize for the appearance of favoritism arising from this incident. We equally value all players on Test, not just raiders or ones in any particular guild. Again, we fucked up, and we have no excuse. Please just accept our humble apology and allow us to move forward together to continue developing this game into the future, because we need your help to do that.

No one is arguing "earning" transfer. It is against policy and that is that. Like the Bizarre, you go and you stay. If you want to toss in quality, we can certainly look at how long those toons were there and make value judgments that way.

The "cost" is a moot point sense you cannot or should not be able to pay for a transfer off of test.

So you would have that crew person fired for making that friend of the boss a Big Mac when the boss told him to make it. In your world, that crew person should toss aside his paper hat and name tag in the name of honor and integrity to make a stand against the manager exercising his authority.

Funny if you check them out on EQ2Players -- they are a level 60 guild and most of the players who aren't anon are in their 70's. Don't know how accurate EQ2players is but it doesn't sound like a guild whose members were wiped and they obviously didn't lose their guild status.

Oh, one more question about this whole situation that I really haven't figured out.

Was it one guy that just decided to help out some friends? That's the way Brenlo talked about it before.

Bruce makes it sound like it was them as a whole that decided they could move.

I'm not really sure anymore if it was a rogue operation or sanctioned operation.

Is EQ2 Players usually quick to update? I don't check it often because I pretty much live on Test, and we obviously don't use it. But I've got some Live toons and each has taken 36-72 hours to show up properly in my experience. (And in fact, some show incorrect data for a week or more.) I could easily just be the odd one out, here.

This should never be evident in any kind of "game" be it your "precious" LSU game or EverQuest 2. Its called UNFAIR ADVANTAGE. Its like buying all the best gear and equipment and paying for expensive coaches for a Little League team. While it doesn't guarantee a win for the team, it DOES give them an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.

I don't give a fuck if its a Big League game where things that give players an unfair advantage is illegal, or the computer game I happen to enjoy as a hobby, it is UNFAIR that these 40something people were given FREE transfers with gear they did not earn and levels they earned twice as fast as anyone else on Unrest. It gives them an Unfair Advantage. Do I think this advantage will = win for them? Nope, that isn't the fucking point. The point is, the advantage is there, and any rationalization you give is fucking retarded.

And yes, I am telling that cashier at McDonalds to tell his manager to fuck off and turn in his hat instead of give away Big Macs. Most would laugh at me, but I've never been one to back down from what I think is right, have I?

Edit: there is a WORLD of difference from "courtesy pricing" as you're describing and what happened here. You know it as well as I do. Quit pretending that what was done was "ok" cuz it was just like getting vendor discounts. Those discounts were paid for, even if not by you.

Thats a fucking horrible example since tickets to games are bought by companies specifically to be given out for a large variety of reasons being anything from a tax write off to showing thanks to a valued customer, but it is in no way even remotely breaking some policy when that is the exact intent those tickets are purchased for.
