I don't need to play this game- I have a social life that does not require logging into my EQ2 toon. I have not lost any sleep since I canceled my EQ2 account, nor did I have qualms about uninstalling the game from my computer.
Now, if I were you, Gojira_Shipi-Taro, who relies on this game to get laid- I might think twice!

In my above post I did not express how I enjoyed EQ2. I left 9 months after launch in 2004. Recently, I returned to a game that had very much improved over the last 3 years. I had planned to stick around, level a toon and enjoy all of the new content. The game is awesome- with the exception of crafting. Crafting in EQ2 has been lobotomized since last I played. I support the removal of interdependency. Unfortunately, crafting in EQ2 is just crafting in World of Warcraft with button smashing added to the process to make players feel as though they are "doing something".

LFG recently revived his Tradeskills forum, if you'd like to go there and bemoan the state of EQ2 crafting, Grindtoof. Just remember that LFG realizes that online crafters arrive and leave via the short bus, so he does not permit flaming there. (Crafting, for the record, is the most incredibly fucked up thing ever introduced to MMOs.)

And now, back to our previously scheduled SOE bashing.

Actually Grimwell has not been cleared of wrongdoing as far as I can see... LFG says its not him because Grimwell says it wasn't him... but that in and of itself does not clear him. I trust LFG when he says it isn't, but that is a leap of faith on my part, it is not proof.

If LFG wants to PROVE it, he could explicitly state the name of the guilty party along with evidence to corroborate it (instead of beating around the bush). LFG from all accounts is a talented attorney, he knows the difference between corroborated evidence and circumstantial evidence. What we have is LFG acting as a character witness and saying trust me, which I admit is good enough for me... but it doesn't meet the burden of proof of clearing anybody.

I just realized how tired I am and might have confused Gallenite and Grimwell, if so I apologize. Never post after reading 74 pages at 1:00 in the morning. I would edit, but I didn't see an edit button.

Suppose the person making the decision is a completely unknown entity? Would it change anything? Would it matter?

This situation really sucks. U have paying custy's who wanted a change to be happy being vilified for just hoping for something new. U have a server full of test folks who are just fucking pissed it wasn't them. And u have a bunch of people who sit there and pretent there is some sort of holy sanctity on our probably been corrupted a million times before servers.

SOE should have been much smarter here, big fucking screw up. It happens, nobody is perfect.
