I don't think that flames represents a majority of the playerbase. But they do represent an *overwhelming* majority of the raiders.
To the people who were never fond of raiders: with EQ2's population as low as it is, one can't say "let the raiders go, it won't be of much consequence", because it will be. A loss of the raiders would hurt EQ2 indefinitely.
And I think that the raiders are a valuable part of the community. I do not, however, think that flames is their only avenue for giving necessary feedback. It's just the easy drama filled way.
You're more than capable of posting maturely and without slinging mud and swearing, obviously. I'm also quite certain that you can post negative feedback the same way.
I don't think anyone is saying "Let go of the raiders," I think they're saying that causing trouble and drama and sowing dissension is an unacceptable form of "feedback." Causing drama just to cause drama isn't helpful to the community as a whole. That's just being in it for oneself and one's own amusement.
I don't think it ever needs to be a case of "us against them" with regards to play styles. The idea is for there to be a whole community. Not pieces of community that feel they are better than the rest.
I disagree. There is more knowledgable information "over there" because the people with the info went there. I do agree some do step over the line on occasion but the majority of people followed the money, not just raiders.
I do not feel like anything is get taken care of by the Devs. I know the team is doing something, but I (and many, many, many more) have no clue what that is. We do not feel engaged by our support and dev teams. We dont feel like we matter and the SOE could care less if anyone stayed or left. And when I say we - I mean the player base, raiders, groups, soloers.
I am sorry but 2 or 3 posts about "the other site" and trying to downplay the effect that this disagreement cause does not fix anything. I sure am glad this thread is well hidden as the majority of people will never see it.
How long does the thread last over there ? - I dont think it makes it through the night.
