I just posted this in response to Brenlo's comments toward me:

EQ2Flames under DDoS attack

I'm reposting it here in case it is deleted:

Just to add a little clarity to this muddled situation, no one has said that the hardcore community is no longer a valued part of the EQ2 Communities, no matter where they hang out. We will still listen to them and I imagine come next summit (probably around Fan Faire) someone from that community will be invited to attend.
LFG was removed from a program, not from the game or the community, his accounts are all still active, he is free to play, to post here or on his site and be a member of the EQ2 community. As any member of any community should feel free to do.
No community was shunned or outcast by removing a single person from the influencers program. Valid concerns or well reasoned objections will always be heeded and considered, no matter which community presents them. I hear players saying that we want to silence the hardcore folks; that's absurd, as you all know, there is no way we could silence a community. Communities always find a way. =)
Thanks and safe travels.
It is true that my player account and forum account remain active. But let's get one thing straight: that's because I haven't violated any rules in game or on these forums. I do admit that one time in the seven years since my Station account has been active, I received a warning for a character name violation, but that's it. The reason you haven't banned my forum account or player account is because you have no excuse to do that.

Now let's move on to what isn't true. The reason I reacted as I did wasn't because I was removed from the Influencer program. It was because of these reasons for my removal, as stated by Grimwell:

"Your passion and enthusiasm for EverQuest II have always been appreciated, but your own activities in the last few months have led us to the conclusion that it is time for your participation in this program to end. You have been all but silent through the many channels of communication provided by the Influencers program; eliminating any benefit that your voice might bring to our attention in the service of the community.

At the very same time you have actively encouraged many ‘sensational’ issues to come to the attention of your community at EQ2Flames, even when those issues lacked merit. Additionally, you have abused your personal access to members of our development teams, with no regard to the harm it might cause them in the process."

The reasons Grimwell stated are nothing more than rationalizations that gave you an excuse to do what you wanted to do. Let's leave aside the fact that there have only been 2 prior members removed from the Summit/Influencer program since it's inception almost 3 years ago. During that time, several people in that program stopped playing the game entirely and came back six months to a year later without any participation at all, and without having their access removed. Additionally, the "many channels of communication provided by the Influencers program" have been all but silent - there has been little or nothing to be involved in. Those "channels" have maybe had a new post every one to five days during the past several months. And the posts and commentary in those channels have had nothing to do with my interests or reason I was invited to participate in that program. There simply hasn't been anything to respond to in the "past several months". And also, why would I post here when I have my own forums? My activism and participation in the EQ2 community have always been on my forum rather than on the Official Forums since I started EQ2Flames in August 2006. And my participation in the Summit/Influencer forums has remained about the same during that entire period. So this reason just isn't true.

Next, I strongly disagree with the comment that the "sensational" issues I've posted about on my site have "lacked merit". That isn't true, and I invite you to provide some examples if you disagree with me about that.

Finally, I am GREATLY offended by Grimwell's comment that I abused my personal access to members of your development teams. Absolutely nothing is further from the truth, and I think both you and I know that is an outright lie.

I went far out of my way to NEVER ask game related questions to any SOE employee. The reason for that is that I never wanted to put anyone from SOE in an uncomfortable situation. The VAST majority of all my conversations with SOE employees have been social, and could not possibly be considered abusive in any form. There are many, many nice people at SOE, and I'm glad I made friends with and got to know them.

Nobody has been a stronger and more vocal advocate of EQ2 and "fair play" than I have. The culture in my community strongly opposes cheating, RMT in violation of the EULA, and other practices that violate the EULA.

The reason for the "sensational" issues and the following comments from Grimwell don't involve any abuse of privilege on my part. Instead, they are directly related to the culture of fear and repression that you and other SOE managers have cultured at SOE HQ in San Diego. The truth is - out of all the NEW STORIES I've posted on my site in the past, everyone of those involved information intentionally leaked to me by SOE whistleblowers who sought positive change at SOE through any means necessary. I never asked for any of that information, it was all provided to me voluntarily by SOE employees with the request that I post it on the condition that my source remain anonymous. This has included my breaking news about SOE buying Vanguard, Scott Hartsman leaving SOE, and more recently, the drama about chronic and known exploiters being secretly moved off the Test server and onto the Unrest server.

Within a month after the most recent Las Vegas Fanfaire, when you and Grimwell acted as if you were extending a peace offering to me and the EQ2Flames community, I began receiving reports from members of your development team that you were strongly lobbying them to stop posting on my site. So your overture was actually pretentious involved double dealing on your part. The fact is you never wanted improved relations with my community or to promote any active dialogue between EQ2Flames members and SOE. Instead, you somehow believed that you were buying my silence and good behavior with VIP treatment.

So the truth is, this situation has never been about me, it has been about my community. After you chased away many of the outspoken players on this forum to my site, my site has existed as the voice of freedom for EQ2. After failing miserably at trying to reshape the image of EQ2 players as a happy lot, tou have once again attempted to silence the voice represented by the users on my forum by cutting ties with me as a way to cut ties with my community.

I recognize that the situation between me, you and Grimwell cannot be repaired. As I stated, I have no problem being removed from the Influencer program, since it didn't appear to be accomplishing anything anyway. But just as you are free to terminate an at-will employee for good reason or no reason at all, you are not allowed to invent untruthful reasons for terminating them and libel or slander them in doing so. I'm shocked you don't seem to grasp this.

The EQ2Flames community will not go gentle into the dark night of your censorship and repression. If anyone at SOE sincerely desires to repair this game and the relations with your subscribers, you must first decide that you are willing to accept the truth. If you ever did that, there is no limit to how successful this game could be. So unless you invite an outspoken raider from my site to replace me in the Influencer program, and actually listen to what that person has to say and improve your corporate culture and your development, community relations, and management teams, you will continue to wallow in mediocrity and will ultimately destroy this game we all love until nothing of value remains.

I always felt like I was doing what was best to form a bridge between SOE and this large community of EQ2 players. I admit often bit my tongue and spun situations toward that end. I am a pragmatic person, and felt that the positive attitude I often expressed toward SOE was in the best interest of this community.

Now I'd go to Fan Fair and talk smack about SOE... but then i'd be voting my dollars to them .

But if I did, I'd probably just come with like a phone book size of compilation FUCK YOU SOE and show it off
