Gee, I'm sorry, I didn't question them and go check for myself...and honestly, it would not have surprised me in the least for it to be pulled. That being said, I don't think even they are retarded enough to pull that thread with the shit-storm surrounding it.

I have read this entire thread and it's really sad.

I played Eq1 for a few years and then moved to EQ2 with family and friends.

One day I saw a post about necro posting and I googled it to see what it meant, the only things listed were a link to a post on the official forums asking what it meant.

So I (stupidly) innocently sent a PM to starry asking what it meant because I had read the rules and could find nothing about it anywhere, that was a HUGE mistake, she flat out told me that it wasn't listed anywhere but that "everyone" knew what it meant so I was obviously lying to make her angry.

I replied that I wasn't aware of the terminology and that I thought it wasn't fair to have a rule that wasn't posted anywhere because how are we supposed to follow rules that are only in peoples minds and not printed for all to see.

Anyway it went really bad, every single day I logged into the forums there was a new message attacking me and accusing me of doing some crime, first it was sexual harassment because I used the phrase "Ciao Baby" in my sig, she said it was sexual harassment against women.... I think she thought I was a man.

When I informed her that I was in fact a woman and not harassing anyone she then said that I was "calling people a baby", I replied that I was not and that it was a simple idiom that merely means goodbye, she called me a liar.

I explained that I was a 40 something grandmother and had never harassed anyone in my life and surely never called anyone any names, ever. She called me a liar.

You can say a lot of things about me but no one would ever say I am a liar.

I logged in the next day and got a page saying I was banned, no reason given, no warning given, nothing at all.

A while later, maybe 8 months or so, I used my other account to pm another mod to ask why I had been banned, I was told it was because of "mod abuse" which I found pretty funny since I was the one being attacked and abused. This mod said they didn't see why I had been banned and would ask grimwell to examine it and see if I could be reinstated. I never hear anything in 3 or so months.

I canceled my accounts, not because I don't like the game but because of the huge insult to my character, the thought that an uneducated simpleton that is drunk with power could have control over my access to the forums AND harass me on a nearly daily basis and then lay blame at my feet as if I had done anything at all wrong was just too much to bear.

I feel for you LFG, it's the principle of the matter and the character assassination that is what is really wrong, they make up things as they wish to justify their actions, they are totally without honor or integrity.

I never posted this before because I was worried that no one would believe what happened to me and that I was totally innocent in every way, but sadly it has now happened to LFG and who knows how many others.

It's probably because I am menopausal but to this day I start crying every time I think about this, her egregious attacks upon me have left me unable to think of going back unless this is corrected, and I really miss that game, I met my husband in EQ1

I had one suggestion though, instead of wearing a T-shirt to fanfaire, how about simply wearing a gray ribbon, like the one in some posts here, it would be understated and subtle but yet everyone would know what it meant.

It would be the perfect thing to show support but still not be something that anyone could object to.

If there was a consolidated thread made of all the accounts suspended/banned from posting on the official site for reasons that are outrageous, it would probably be one of the biggest threads on the board. I for one have had 6 banned there, some for legit reasons others for reasons along the lines of what u stated. StaryEyedElf was one of the worst.

I'm actually being nice to remind him to check. However, it seems that even when I'm doing good things for the man you obviously lust over you still get offended. So fuck it.

IMO, one of the saddest things about EQ2 was that they had a great player base of mothers, grandmothers, and housewives in the beginning, based on the original crafting system. No prior MMO had ever reached this market segment.

Then most of those people, like raiders, were chased away and this game languished rather than achieving the popularity and success it could have achieved but for hamhanded incompetence by SOE management.

It's really a shame, and the story about the loss of 30 y/o + female subscribers in EQ2 has been largely ignored.
