True. In fact, I can't lie - I surprised myself I was able to control my ego as much as I did when I was a mod.

I realized early on that I wouldn't be a very good/fair/impartial mod so I didn't really mod at all. I just used my access in the program to read the forums and complain about Mawie, tbh.

I just posted this in the NGD thread about EQ2Flames that is active in the NGD section on the Official Forums:

What will not be acceptable to us is just seeking the advice of casual players who raid once or twice a week - what we want is officially recognized open communication between you and the most dedicated, passionate players of your game who are frequent and knowledgeable posters on my site.

Do this, and the drama will end, because then we'll know that you are sincere about seeking the same goals that we are and not wasting each other's time with insincere overtures.

I'd be happy to recommend several players for your consideration if contacted, or you are free to pick out the obvious ones that stand out on my site as qualified and acceptable. There is no mystery here.

I admit I got pissed off and violated that rule with respect to one email from Grimwell and one PM from Aeralik. I'd suspend myself for doing that, but then there'd be nobody to look after the forums. I won't do it again.

We are seeking peace. We are not terrorists. We are mutually engaged in a symbiotic relationship with SOE, and want to maximize that for our common benefit. Terrorists are the opposite of symbiotic, and your analogy has no merit in this situation.

I read it as do X and Y will happen and you seem to leave an unspoken if you don't do X then Z will happen even though its not explicitly stated. I'm willing to admit my interpretation could be wrong but thats how I read it.

But in addition to what you said, there are too many moderators and not enough posters here. This is just my opinion, but I think that the volunteer program has too much power. (Yes, I just said that, I am sure I am going to hear about it--not that I care-- but looking back at events, I can clearly see that as being the main issue.)

Keeping things civil is one thing. Squelching, as the trend seems/seemed to be, is a whole different story.

I'm still very much pro-SOE but something has to change.
