Re: This is how it will be?
I have been playing EQ since early EQ1. I'm a loyal player and have been around the whole time through all the ups and downs. I stopped posting on the official forums, save for the Ranger epic thread, a long time ago. The main reason - you can't be honest when you have an issue that isn't positive. If you say anything negative the response is swift. I understand protecting a brand, but it goes a little bit too far. I agree that some people are excessivly negative and make comments that aren't appropriate, but lumping all legitimate complaints and concerns in with that and banning all of it is not something I agree with. You cannot make an honest comment that reflects negatively on anything EQ on the official forums without being warned about 'excessive negativity' which might be the name of my next alt. ;P
It is obvious that EQ2 flames has a much higher patronage of players, particularly long term and high-end players, than the official forums and there's a reason why. While I do not care about internal politics, and I have never been interested in behind the scenes drama, I will continue to support EQ2 flames as my EQ2 player community of choice.
I greatly appreciate LFG's efforts to make this a positive community, but I can't say as I feel bad the gloves are finally off. It's about time. Perhaps if players are allowed to honestly express themselves, the right people will take notice and make appropriate changes to our gaming environment and to the various things that players have issues with.
Best,
Bryony - 80 Ranger - Nagafen
