If you haven't read the Massively article than you are missing a huge chunk of the story LFG has previously kept quiet out of respect for SOE (yes, even after all this started he lent them a hand)

How Aeralik deleted cochy's post, and LFG took the blame to ease relations. How Aeralik accused LFG of stirring all this drama to generate advertising revenue (obviously he has no idea how much money is lost in maintaining this site). And how the Brenlo douche squad looked for any excuse to sever a shaky limb from an otherwise complacent and ridiculously self glorifying community.

You would think SOE would hire people that understood that PR meant effort, not just cutting off all ties with entities that expressed concern.
