I really wasn't going to post anything on the NPU subject that people keep bringing up, but it's starting to get to me now.

I didn't leave that guild on the greatest of terms, and as I said, I'm not a part of the guild and haven't been since just before RoK came out so most of them may not like me or care about my opinion.

However some of the things I'm hearing people say is just plain old bullshit. Mainly the lack of understanding to the work they actually do put into things.

Lets start off with saying, I don't know about this RoK thing, it doesn't seem like something that would be done as it wasn't in the past (I have first hand experience on this one, as do others who have posted in the thread so far), also, when I was recruiting for that guild I had a lot of forms of contact with the guild leader, and frankly...I'm not seeing where that e-mail address is proven to be him if thats what it is indeed attempting to do, but whatever I don't know for a fact so I wont speak on that.

I will speak in support of their accomplishments previous to RoK though. For a guild who came up short on members through most of EoF they did alot of work on things to try to beat it. A large amount of this process included figuring out strats. Now before you come to the absurd conclusion that they were all or mostly all , given by Astaroth, they were actually probably given by someone in your guild, if you are in a top raiding guild. I can recall numerous amounts of people with loose lips spilling their guts on how they do an encounter with hopes of bragging. This isn't always bad, sharing is caring.

If they would have had the inside info and strategies to things dating back to their accomplishments, I wouldn't have gained respect for people like Dannin, Seiryu, Kirby, Ballads and Captain Olimer. I also wouldn't have heard countless times things such as raid leaders yelling "GET THIS BITCH OUT OF MY GUILD" to other members, "GET YOUR FINGERS OUT OF YOUR CUNT" and other things of the sort as well as getting in fights with Dannin over strategies, he can attest to this.

I also wouldn't recall having to camp pantrilla and vraksakin, and even crystals, for hours on end. Wouldn't recall losing mobs to other guilds, wouldn't recall having to pull a crystal mob while fighting the dragon from the cube.

Wouldn't have broken armor on countless different matron pulls in countless different places, only to come up short and not even get a world first.

NPU would have been far more successful in EoF in general, if they would have had all the answers to the questions they seek. However, that wasn't the case, it was frequently the other way around, questions to help fix or escalate notice of minor bugs, such as underground EoF brownies. Another frequent question asked by NPU's super-dev was "Where's my plat split?!" , though he didn't raid frequently he provided a means to the guild of feeling like the bullshit that they dealt with might get fixed (NOT SAYING IT EVER DID/DOES GET FIXED!).

The GM that was guilded, not much assistance to anyone in the guild, more of a pain in the ass for scaring away the applicants I attempted to recruit, due to a desire for a certain PHH hammer.

Don't get me wrong, I do not dislike either of these people, Astaroth is a great person underneath his creepy peanut butter + shag carpet exterior, and the GM lady was extremely nice to me, but if you're after some sort of excuse, to write off all of NPU's past accomplishments, you may want to look to better and more resourceful and devious people, though I doubt you would find anything of worth at all.

This type of thing comes up every time that a guild gets a worldwide first or the content starts to clear out of a newer expansion, it happened on the matron, it happened on wuoshi, it happens now under a different guise. There will always be disbelief and enough bullshit to prove someone or another is doing something shady. Every top guild has SOMETHING they are not proud of. Every. Single. One.

I apologize for being so long winded, but it has been a long time coming through various threads.

He's pretty damn accurate. It was scary as hell down there during the fires. They were rampant and springing up in new places almost daily. My kids and their dad were almost evacuated, and he almost lost his work (fire line was about 1000 feet from their door). Of the people I worked with, two were evacuated. One was precautionary and he ended up living out of his motor home with his wife and 4 kids, and his neighbors, in the parking lot at work. lol. The other's house was at risk and he couldn't go back for 2 days.

I was really busy at the time because I moved out of state 2 weeks later, but it really was a crazy, confusing, maddeningly depressing time. Anyone who has the audacity to say "Oh they could have still worked from home, they had an expansion to launch!" has no idea what they are talking about.

The stories never end, the email is fake, but if it was sent then it was because of the fire, but it didn't help anyway, so it doesn't matter if it is real or not, ffs get your shit together and get your stories straight, how about whittling them down to one or two possibly coherent non-conflicting ones?

I happen to have lived in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles for over a decade, right along the mountains, I've been through more fire evacs than you have had lays so stfu about fire emergencies because again, you are talking out of your ass and it's ALL shit.

How many actual employee homes were threatened? I only remember the SOE building but if you have evidence that the idiot actually did have his home threatened that's even worse for him, nice priorities there.

I lived it any times, in fact I lived in a constant state of possible evac because of where I lived, my front closet held emergency kits, cat carriers and copies of important documents and med prescriptions.

My point is that it was SOE that was in danger, so how does that compare in any way to you, me or anyone else being evacuated from their homes?

It doesn't compare, and even if it did then wth is this crap about sending that email out because of the fire? Who would care about a raid if they are being evacuated?

Honestly I love your posts, in fact I was laughing so hard over one of them that I had tears in my eyes, but this time I think you misunderstand my meaning, I KNOW the pain of evacs, up close and personal, but my job being evacuated? Hell that's a snow day for me!
