Yes, but in this situation the dev stated there was no content label and provided information on how to access it. So I am led to believe that the dev(s) wanted some folks to take a look at it before it was submitted to the masses on test.

May not have been the right way to handle things, but I really don't think it was a developer trying to help their own guild get ahead. If it was an open zone already and people were failing at it, and the dev provided the walkthrough, THAT would be a different story. In this case the zone wasn't even live yet.

The entire expansion was in beta still. However, you're missing the point. The notes given in the email were internal QA testing notes. This has been confirmed on the SOE official forums. They aren't for public consumption.

Also, having been one of the guilds to beta test the raids in RoK, including VP, we weren't forwarded these notes... because no one ever gets QA notes for beta testing. Since, oh I dunno - we're not members of EQ2's QA staff.

well then one way to fix it would be to have an internal server where new content can be tested where live players werent involved so it could be tested before going on the test server. i cant see how bringing people from the customer base knowing how competitive the game is to some people would ever be considered an intelligent descion. its a known fact that devolpers play the game why couldnt they play it on a dedicated server amongst themselves to perform such tests.

if ANY of my companies internal documents gets misused it is grounds for immediate termination and possible criminal charges pending on the monetary loss from the misuse. i am sure sony would have some simmiliar policy

While this is a great idea in theory, it would probably not be very cost effective... I mean consider there are 24 classes, and if you were truly wanting to test the raid content, you would probably have one of every class on a raid (from a dev standpoint to see how things effect raid mobs) Consider at minimum you would pay them probably 25-30k a year.... 25 X 24= 600k a year minimum. That is quite a lot of overhead just to sufficiently test content.

This is some funny shit.

NPU has been on the inside of every new content added to the game since T5.

The devs kiss ass with certain guild, we knew this a long time ago.

I was a member of the largest guild...game wide, on all server, till I decided to start my own guild a month ago.

We were never once invited to join in on the "testing" even tho we had completed every raid in the game multiple times over. They kiss ass with certain guilds, oh and they have to let those guilds CHEAT to win.

Seriously, the devs need a beating with the unemployment stick.
