Also its not personal information thats being leaked. Its information that devs have leaked themselves already at some point in time. Its not their phone number, addy, or SSN FFS.

Well, I knew this thread was a result of the severing of ties, not the other way around.

If it's a rule not to post the in-game identity of SOE employees... why is this thread still here? Could this be preferential treatment on the part of LFG and the OP?

And correct me if I'm wrong, but two wrongs don't make a right, do they? Just because you guys believe "they started it", is that reason enough to screw over everyone else? If I hit you and you hit me, should I then hit your brother or sister just because?

EQ2Flames deserves the backlash of SOE due to previous actions... not because of what I see here. There have been many things in the past that have been cause for SOE to back out, yet they didn't until now. Regardless, though, the point remains that this entire situation is completely out of control, and this community is hurting people who don't even have anything to do what this.

You guys demand reprimands, firing, refunds, etc., etc. You feel you're entitled to so much and that it's your right to hand out whatever information has been given to you under certain circumstances just because you feel you've been wronged. (And I use the term "you" generally, as I can't really say who is at the core of this thing). But when it's all said and done, don't we all know that there are two facts that will never change?

1 - Members of the SOE development team who did nothing to any of you but go to work at a company that has its problems just like everyone else, are now going to have to deal with in-game issues and losing their relaxation time because someone got their panties in a wad.

2 - LFG and/or EQ2Flames will most likely never again be able to join any sort of community program as a result of this. Right, wrong, or indifferent as that may be. LFG has always supported the crap that goes on here, as he should being the owner of the site. But, a rule should have existed about the sharing of private developer information BEFORE this all came about... and no poll should've ever been had to see if a rule should be implemented. If he, or you, ever respected any of those people none of this would've happened. Period.

Oh come on! Be fair - you're saying that LFG should have known every crazy arse thing people might post here, and have a rule to cover it all before it happens? Never gonna happen.

I know, I run a guild. You start with a ruleset, and someone does something and you realise you need a ruling on it - you add to your ruleset to cover such a situation. This is a forum - not a legally binding contract - it doesn't need "legislation" more water tight than a double thickness Durex!

And to echo others - the information posted, on the whole, was not obtained by people with "priviledged access" to SoE - it was simply information freely available on the internet, or given out by the SoE employees themselves to others in the game! Hell even Grimwell's own blog goes on about his toons he has in EQ2 - and his blog is the first result you get back if you just google "Grimwell".

~You say we dont have to right for a refund or ect. ... hate to break it to you but if this were a normal bussiness, and was in "person" many people would sue due to what crapy service they recieve...

~The development team is responsible for the game we play, its there responsability to stand up for what they believe in and do there jobs!

~In this thread i havent seen pesonal RL info released such as Private phone numbers or RL adressess, BUT company emails. EMAILs which were meant for us to have in the first place so we could communicate with the dev team.

~LFG has the right to post what he did, and it was what should have been done.

Rhoe Get off your high moral horse and understand what has happend. Understand we are voiceing are concerns. and our distiscation with SOE, if you dont like it dont come here and read it.

Guys, guys. While nobody on EQ2Flames is a total angel, it's obvious that LFG has tried to keep some reasonable amount of peace in the past. SOE can't be 100% corrupt (they're not the Church of Scientology!) but...

It's unfortunate that a compromise at this moment would be nearly impossible, though.
