LFG is correct no private information was given at all in the post.

someones business email adress is not a private email. You put it on your business card, on all you emails, on your website etc. NOT PRIVATE.

I have worked at P&G headquarters and trust me my email there was company property, but not private. It was on my card, in the company directory, on all my letterhead etc.

SO they posted NOT private emails, those people might get a bunch of emails saying how much SOE developers giving NPU all the cheat codes sucks.

Big fucking deal. They deserve it.

In my own job, I give end users exactly the information about me that they need to know. If I volunteer my personal cell number and then I start getting calls on the weekends from people who got it from x, who got it from y, and so on? Whose fucking fault is that? It's mine.

Fucking Retarded. There is no morality issue here. There is no need to attempt to suppress information that is believed to be fact. If u want to be spoon fed exactly what is politically correct and has no negative implications read the official forums, they do a great job of suppressing the truth there.

I see a couple results from this and other threads:

1. Devs will get fired and / or quit over this.
2. The devs that leave SOE are the devs that are dedicated to developing raid content
3. SOE will hire someone significantly cheaper and / or less experienced than their current team
4. We've fucked ourselves.

I do recognize that NPU had developer 'help' while doing this encounter, however, I also suspect that similar emails have been sent to most of the top end guilds out there. Even if they didn't get emails about Trak, they probably got them regarding other encounters, and some of those strats or hints were used to get a WW1st.

2. These devs are the same ones who have every high-end raider on EQ2 bitching about how shitty the raid content is, which is pretty sad considering the expansion was end-game oriented and should have aimed at a rejuvenation of the end-game raiding scene.
3. Maybe they will also hire someone less complacent who wants to make great content for raiders, and also doesn't do corrupt shit behind the scenes.
4. I don't think so. The game is a sinking ship without some major changes.

It is not about suppressing the truth! If this information was meant for the public, it would be there on a SoE page, period. There is those that can deal with this information sensibly, and there are those that can not. The only reason this information is publicized here is to hurt the developer team as a whole, don't delude yourself into thinking otherwise.

For the members of NPU this is a conscience thing, either

a) they all knew they were being spoon fed in which case they can be happy with their WW 1sts that are totally worthless
b) some of them knew in which case I hope those who didn't have some pretty strong words for those that did for degrading the reputation, respect and status of the entire guild and all it's members
or
c) NPU are totally blameless despite supposed evidence to the contrary in which case their kills have all been righteous.

I do hope that what ever the situation someone from NPU says something because total silence is leading a lot of people to believe what is being said and imagine alot more.

The difficulty now for NPU is that no matter what they say they will lose, if they deny all allegations people won't believe them and this situation and the allegations just will continue to grow, if they confirm that the allegations are founded then they not only destroy themselves but any remaining integrity that SOE still holds, the only plus side being that at least the EQ2 community will give them credit for having the balls to fess up and take the inevitable lumps and all this will eventually blow over and be forgotten.

I kind of doubt any devs will get fired. Or even that NPU will lose Astaroth... he was still logged in, tagged, parked as usual in Danak all last night. NPU will continue to shrug and say "who cares".

What might happen is that EQ2 experiences a small drop in subs and a decline in new subs.

What will happen is that EQ2 will experience a LARGE drop in subs when AoC and then WAR come onto the scene. And their veeps will report back: well, we can't keep up with these new games, it has nothing to do with employee corruption, nazi-esque PR techniques, poor implementation of KOS, blah blah blah."

I'm going to Warhammer. If it were out today, I'd cancel my EQ2 sub today. Until then I'll have fun with my guildies and keep /telling Astaroth: Hey dude, I hear you got the hookup, can I get the l33t stratz for Coldtooth plx???!
