It has real names and work emails? ohhh, heaven forbid people might actually have some infomration about the company they are doing business with...

IF they had added home address and phone numbers, I could see the issue, but for this, this is nothing.

He allows it to remain because this site has always had the attitude of "less is more" when it comes to moderating. Many of the site's posting rules were implemented to make this site more palatable to SOE; with SOE's disavowal of the site comes LFG's return to "hands-off" moderating.

His war cry of "FFA on SOE" is not so much an attack on SOE, but rather a show that SOE will not be given the preferential treatment that they HAD enjoyed around these parts anymore. Including the rule he had implemented only ONE DAY earlier against the outing of SOE devs in-game character (a rule that NO other person who posts on this site enjoys)

personally, I dont' think the devs should be allowed to play anonymous toons on a live server, but that is my personal feeling, one I'm sure others will disagree with.

They should be allowed to play. Hell they should be allowed to raid, or craft, or sit on their ass being retards in public chats. They can do ALL of that, and never once admit they are a dev or have any contact at all with SOE! Or without giving out detailed QA information about encounters to their guild. Or getting head for in game stuff... or giving free server transfers... or... or.... you get the idea.

BTW, I got that response because I sent them PMs politely asking for their take on what was going on. Shortly after I sent my PM, the eq2f thread in the NGD area was given the 'green light' to discuss the issue.

Of course they are reading this site, they just cant comment on it. I would bet all my plat on 90% of the people at SOE have EQ2Flames in the background.

The point is that not only guilty devs were outed, likely innocent devs were outed as well.

Devs should be allowed to play in their free time. What they do outside of their work hours, with the exception of blatant cheating, should be none of our business.

Harass them during their work hours, fine. They're familiar enough with the MMO industry to know what they're getting into on the job. However, when they're off the clock, they don't need jackholes harassing them. That isn't fair. What 9 to 5 job do you know where its acceptable for customers to get information on what an employee does in their free time, and where, and then spread it around on the internet?

LFG has NO responsibility to allow or disallow anything from Snark's post, or the rest of this thread for that matter. NONE of the information was gathered illegally, or behind anyone's back. It was info given out by said dev's, gm's, or w/e, and obtained by Snark thru w/e means he used (Friends i believe).
