I'm only on page 16, so I apologize if someone already brought this up, but the Dev in question wouldn't have said he'd "look the other way" if it wasn't an exploit.
Edit: And someone responded to it, lol.

We know that as a person, he could choose to report what his guild was doing to SoE proper, or not. He said he would be willing NOT to. Thus preventing the proper authorities from taking a look for themselves.

Just keep saying that, champ. If you make a poll on that, it will come back 99%/1% saying you're a tool.

Much respect for Pantz. Someone has a pair of balls.
Good people can make a mistake and cheat. But lying, cowering, duplicity...they are the things that douchebags are made of.

What I said was true to the best of my knowledge when I said it, and I didn't know about this screenshot when I said that.

I believe you. And I also believe that just as SOE is ultimately responsible for Aeralik's breech of ethics, so are you responsible for Niber's.
The question is, what are you and SOE going to do, respectively, to re-earn the trust of your users?

If one is concerned about the integrity of the game, send the information to someone at SOE or Sony. While it may not get you the public response desired, it is more likely to get an actual result in terms of changes to dev practices (assuming there was any wrongoing - if there's no exploit, this whole point is moot).
Ultimately, only SOE can decide if there was an exploit and if Aeralik did anything improper. Making this public indicates that LFG is less interested in seeing a just resolution and more interested in creating scandal.
|
I don't like you're all too favourable outlook of everything SOE, but I do think you're an intelligent person. I'm surprised that in this case you're playing dumb to defend them. I had hope your own pride was bigger than your love for SOE.

You need to read what I wrote in the context of the fact that I'm not a technical person.
After all, I'm the guy who accidentally gave all SOE users the global ability to edit or delete any post on this forum, when I thought I was only enabling that feature for their account.
And Dar, weren't you the guy from just after this site started who discovered that people could add themselves to a public group to gain mod rights on this site? I had that fixed immediately after you pointed it out, and again appreciate the fact that you pointed it out way back then and kept it to yourself.
All I'm doing is pointing out that I'm a technical retard and nothing more than a button pusher, whether that involves sophisticated admin tools or EQ2. All this does not add up to support a case that I lied.
The official forums have admin tools that allow user PMs to be browsed, this site does not, that's all I intended to say.

I'd love to take credit for such a thing, but no that wasn't me.
