Re: Back at you, SOE
I really begin to wonder how Aer can show his face at the office after something like this. It's painfully obvious he used this sites PM's to avoid detection on the official forums, only to have it ultimately blow up in his face.
I mean, I would think even SoE employees would have a WTF attitude after looking at that PM. It's something thats clearly against the rules, and a clear violation of his privileges. I just don't understand how they can have that little regard for their product and/or respect for their organization as a whole.

Agreed.
Choosing to cheat is never on accident, which might be implied by your statement. However, I too offer props to Pants for owning up to his actions and not making things worse by giving excuses or willfully obfuscating as some here have done in these threads.
His reputation and the respect he might get from others will surely take a hit (not that he might care, as I think he stated), but his actions in taking responsibility for using the exploit and not allowing his guild to be tarred for his own actions go a long way to demonstrate that he is not a punk.

Flames now has 0 support from anyone. No TTH, no Zam (although I'm not sure how much there was), no SOE, no one.

Re: Back at you, SOE
Although I am upset that Aerelik did this, LFG you've just given SOE the necessary spin control as to why they had to sever ties with flames in an official capacity.
If I am not mistaken, what Aerelik had forwarded to Pantz was a PM that he had received on the boards here. This was not the proper channel of escalation for getting things fixed. Although it was definitely a more effective way then /bug reporting stuff, it was not the SOE way of getting issues addressed and corrected.
The community interaction between dev and player was blossoming, issues were being discussed publicly and via pm and for once the players were starting to feel like they were being heard. If it was truly a bug report that he forwarded off, then that's one thing, but as I said, I suspect it was a PM received, something SOE had no control over.
I am no way excusing what Aerelik did, nor do I think SOE was right in severing ties with flames, but were I in SOE's shoes, you've just provided the spin control.

If I'm not mistaken, it was a copy pasted bug report, or a report from someone else.
