I'll rationalize it for you. There needs to be a full scale investigation and heads need to roll. Things like this cannot be allowed to happen.

I feel for the Devs, I honestly do. It sucks having the solution and not being able to tell anyone. I was an Instructor in the Air Force and when we have students doing things or getting stuck on something you want to just tell them the answer so you can move on, but that is generally not going to help anything. When the shit hits the fan the motive is to take the student out of the picture and get everything done yourself, but then what did you solve? You have to sit by and do nothing or else you just make things worse. Telling your guild how to do an exploit and that you will let them do it? Are you fucking kidding me?

I am not defending SOE in the least; personally I think BOTH sides are fucking up left and right in all this. It's very enjoyable to witness, in a Darth Sidious sort of way.

I personally think YOU made this your swan song. While relations between Flames and SOE had soured, after your initial posting of Grimwell's e-mail, you probably had the general support of your community. I don't know how this will shake out... even if this was a one-time event on your part, it's a violation of the trust of YOUR users, which is the one thing you always had, unquestionably, over SOE.

I have been an EQ 2 subscriber since Nov 04 and I am absolutely amazed by you Aeralik. Sure what LFG did was low but it was a well placed punch and you deserved it quite honestly.

I have nothing personal against any dev. I don't witch hunt that often except on Halloween. But c'mon Aeralik, sending PMs on a site where it could be viewed by a curious admin. In our modern society we have personal e-mails and messenger s/n's so why the hell are you sending messages over flames with that kind of obvious abuse of your position? I am just saying if your going to break the rules, at least play it smart.


What really disgusts me is how that bug report was used. The person writing it had good intentions for it because I am sure he/she felt comfortable in trusting that information was secure with SOE. Not at all it seems, I wonder if said person could only ever find out their bug report helped a dev get their epic.

LFG, MUCH props for keeping it 100%, and for putting this out there to people. I agree with a lot of people about the 'scary' fact that it was someone else's PM but first we dont know if that person didnt want it posted, and second (even if they didnt) Its still LFG's intellectual property (this site).

For those who don't understand what he means by 'kills the site' and how it hurts him personally, is the fact that a big part of this sites financial viability has to do with the advertisements that are on it, and thats driven by 'viewer ship.' If people stop seeing SOE People post here they will be less likely to post, and as the game gets older anyway more people will leave the game, and less posts means less traffic, less traffic means less revenue from the advertisements, which means less of a reason for LFG to keep the site up and functioning in the way that it does.

So for him to basically be fighting back, at this point he knows its irreparable damage, but fuck that shit, you cop a swing at me and i'm gunna lay you out. It's not about 'an eye for an eye' it's about not letting people bully you, and not backing down when your right. No, the ends doesn't always justify the means, but sometimes the means aren't so bad, and the 'ends' need accomplishing.
