VOTE: Should we add a Cross Server Recruitment Section?

This was suggested by Tordyn of Mistmoore, I think it's a good idea.

I like to ask for community feedback before making major changes, since users sometimes go Jet Li about ideas I thought were harmless.

One reason I like this idea is because it's not allowed on the SoE forums.

The YES or NO question up for vote is:

Should we put in a "Help Wanted" section for cross server recruitment, so any guild can advertise for new members worldwide?

If you voted YES, should this section be informational only, with a no-flaming rule and moderated, just for announcements and questions, or should it be full-contact FFA like the rest of the site?

I vote YES. I also vote no flaming and gently moderated. If people want to flame such things, we have the server boards and the Your Guild Sucks forum just for that purpose.

Gently moderated = the Admins won't have to hover over the forums like a cruel nanny, but will ask to keep flaming to a minimum and respond to OP requests for re-rails. I'd hate to have to be in there all MiB-like, deleting posts and yelling at people. It gives me headaches.

I voted for light moderation because too much drama can cloud the message of the recruitment, and maybe intimidate people from posting what they are honestly seeking. Server boards are better suited for disputes or flamewars.

Hey thanks for comming with my idea so quick... I have chosen yes and I do agree 110% with Calthine. Should maybe be lightly watched over since we do have the other forums for people to FFA in. I voted the first one but should of read it all before voting like a donkey ;) .... hehe damn football always makes me half ass shit :-P.

Im so glad this comes across as appealing to everyone :D... I have been a guild recruiter and have broken the policy set forth by SOE and gone to other server forums to recruit :P ... Good work LFG and Calthine

sounds like a good idea, and yes, lightly moderated should probably be the right way to do it seeing how some recruitment threads turn out :D

(I also think that whoever would check the recruitment threads would first have a look over at "You Guild Sucks" so they would already know any arguments that could end up in a recruitment thread.)

I voted YES and with mild moderation, basically with the same reasons as
previous posters.

Too much flaming in recruitment thread could possibly cloud the message and
make people not want to use those forums because it's yet another place to get flamed.
If u "know" that you will be flamed for posting there you won't post and that is
the opposite of what the intent is so, yes please moderate those forum for the greater good of them.
