the root of EQ2 is definatley High Fantasy...that is...the base storyline of the game and it's expansions...if novelised...would be...

the quest...since they deal with your character are definately low...since they deal with you and your characters life and goals...

as for good vs evil... even in real life...good and evil are relitive to ones point of view.

as for a game where good can't group with or raid with evil and daily battle with each other....errrr... eq2 pvp? (sure there are the exiled...but that would make them neither good or evil...but neutral..even paper RPG's of old had neutral aligns...)

that brings to note....why are there no neutral align cities in EQ2? my main is a gnome ( neutral race ) and a Troubador (a neutral class) and follower of Bristlebane ( a neutral god )...but because I chose FP as my starter city....I'm evil? hmmmm

not truly a city...since you have to be betrayed to enter and there is no housing and such, more of a place to do business while you are betraying.

Aren't the other cities reduced that level now anyway? Seriously, I just use my house to hold my altar and AA mirror. If housing is the big difference, then I say we have SoE put a one bedroom type deal in Haven... problem solved.

Compared to other MMOs EQ2 is high fantasy. The look and feel of weapons is very dramatic compared to AoC.

But it also retains some low fantasy elements as the races look more realistic compared to WoW .

Overall I think the look of EQ2 is about even if it is starting to show its age a bit ;).
