Venekor never died the first few times in cazic thule. Even though you defeated him. He is a known coward in dragon lore. And would flee at the first sign of danger. Although I beleive in KOS we were finally able to defeat him.

And Mayong well I do not think we know how to kill him yet. How do you kill something that has lived for thousands of years and is already dead. With all the other guild hall trophies at least we get thier head with mayong you only get his coffin.

The Ewer of Sul’Dae was created by Anashti Sul (or at her direction) as a cure to all illness and to death itself. It actually created the first undead on Norrath and so she was expelled to the Void. The Ewer was left behind and we don’t know where it went. Eventually, the D’Morte family of Neriak acquired the Ewer of Sul’Dae as they were dealers of rare and magical antiquities. They drank from the Ewer and became vampires, and were eventually chased out of Neriak. Malkonis D’Morte and some of his family brought the Ewer to the court of the God King Anuk (who had assembled a city of Anashti Sul worshippers) and gave them the Ewer in exchange for amnesty. Malkonis became the consort (husband, boyfriend?) of one of the Priestesses of Anashi Sul and they surreptitiously began having blood orgies in the city. Before too long, the God King Anuk used the Ewer to transform his entire city into undead creatures.

This is all gathered from the Peacock Quests where you meet Malkonis D’Morte in the Statue Court of Living Tombs and he reveals how the Ewer came to the God King. I have the chat transcript around here somewhere, I'll see if I can hunt it down.

That's pretty much what it looks like. But I always thought that the water from the Ewer made you unliving, but not necessarily a vampire.
As far as I'm aware it does make you unliving, I think I remember reading somewhere that to create the first vampire, Mayong, Innoruuk's blood was involved with the Ewer and the Ydal race. Can anyone solidify that for me? I could be dead ass wrong

The vampires in Evernight Abbey talk about "Innoruuk's Curse" and "Innoruuk's Blood," so that sounds correct.

I thought mayong existed way before the ewer was ever created

"Mayong Mistmoore's life started over 10,500 years ago. He is thought to have been an Elddar elf, or even an elf from a time before that Elddar age. Because of this the origins of his vampirism are shrouded in mystery. There have been whisperings throughout the age that he had started to dabble in necromantic magics. Shunned by his peers for trying to find a way to make his life eternal, and not in the Mother's good graces, he sought out the Father of Hate. Making a pact, much like Venril Sathir, he was given eternal life and thusly became the first Vampire. Because of this gift from the Father Mayong started to grow hateful and withdrew back into the Faydark. Obsessed with becoming more powerful in his now "immortal" state he gathered many around him. Teir'Dal were by then starting to become fierce creatures to be reckoned with. He surrounded his castle with them, hoping to fend off visitors or adventurers from entering there as he kept to himself and his studies. "

Thats the general story i find on mayong.. which his age alone definately puts him before the ewer.

where did you get this story from?

I remember hearing a slightly similar version where he was an elddar elf that had been envolved with some affair with Tunare and Zaane. Which left him thrown into darkness or something and his hatred for being seperated from Zaane was so great Innoruuk felt it and offered him a chance to come back to Norrath, changed into the vampire we know him as. But this was an old story i had heard from somewhere maybe eq1 beta lore or the codex of war, so i dont know if its accurate or was tossed out.

I recently had heard the story about the Ydal race from the collectibles found in Mistmyr Manor, it doesnt say Mayong specifically but it does talk about the first race of dark elves that took on Innoruuks traits which i assume.. which iirc was his vampiric/ lifedrain ways.
