That's why it's called the "Prismatic" quest. Darathar steals a prismatic egg, and plans to raise another kerafyrm. Nagafen sends you after it. After the battle with Darather, the eggs shatters, and you bring the shards of it back to Nagafen. He don't care that his egg is destroyed because he has plenty more. He's just happy that it's accounted for. He gives you a shard of the fragmented egg, which you fashion into a weapon, IE your prismatic weapon quest reward.

Also, I'm pretty sure these eggs were made well after the eq1 timeline. If you go to Lavastorm, in a lava pit near the spawn of Solusek's Fist, you can see the bones of Vox. It appears she was killed while going to , or leaving from a visit with Nagafen. Anyone know how Vox was killed? I forget.

So when you screw up the resurrection of Vox and get the live version (instanced version), what's the deal with that then? Instead of summoning the spirit you end up physically rebirthing Vox, bones and all? I've never seen those bones you're speaking of, obviously Vox's? or just dragon bones?

I'd say he returns at some point. Killing larger than life dragons = good times, and the sleeper is one of the most infamous. I'm hoping to see that eventually. Plus all the story lines that could be generated with his return.

Vox's remains are pretty north up in Lavastorm in a pit, ... as for what killed her.. it was Darathar's "leashed" drakota, ... not the little pussy ones in KoS, .. the BIG mofo ones he used the Ring of Scales arcane leash to control, about 4-5 of them assaulted Vox as she tried to get to Nagafen, and iirc the battle was between Vox, Nagafen, and Najena vs. the 4-5 massive drakota. Vox was killed during it i Nagafen wounded and w/ Najena's help iirc fought them off to go deep back into Sol Eye... again im going from memory as i did the prismatic.....waaaaaay back.

i might be off but i think they got vox first then went after naggy nagena helped boost naggys power along with summoning the maglomontis and he faught them off i think 3 of them are the same drakes you kill for voxs shards to summon her

Vox was forbidden to make the prismatic dragon with naggy and when she got caught she was struck down with vengeance!

Well, if I recall, the lore surrounding Velious in EQ1 was that there existed a barrier of ice and wind, so severe that the gnomes had to create a special boat to break through. If this is the case, the current climate concerns (icecaps melting or whatever) should have little to no impact on a possible return. I know they've mentioned that "parts" had melted, but the vast majority may still be there. And, since that was where Kerafyrm was at rest, he may still call it home. Just a thought.

Admittiedly, I was all up on EQ1 Lore through the end of PoP, but I've failed to pay attention in EQ2. =(

it seems to me that eq2 lore is boring as ballz.

I mean i have yet to find anything interesting about eq2 lore.

Eq1 lore was amazing!

Killing gods, seeing the gods, velious was awesome all the dragons...cazic thule innoruuk...just everything about it awesome!

For the most part, I agree. I like the concept that we can't challenge the gods (yet - or ever) but there should be lore a-plenty explaining why. In EQ1, you couldn't escape the lore if you wanted to. You had to read quest lines to interact with them, etc. It was truly amazing.

They need to seriously consider rehiring the Loremasters (what I've dubbed the original Lore Dev Team) and make an effort during the next xpac.

iirc it was Tony Garcia, Bill Trost.. and a 3rd guy whos name escapes me.

Bill Trost wrote the original lore documentation for EQ1. He came up with the gods, major history, and all of the main figures(Mistmoore, etc.) Tony Garcia was also a lore writer for EQ1, but not the main guy. He was the main guy for EQ2 up until recently, so it's his fault that the EQ2 lore has sucked so badly. In EQ1, Garcia was responsible for alot of the lore surrounding Sir Lucan and Soulfire, which is why we got so much of it shoved down our throats in EQ2. I think Lucan might have originally been Garcia's D&D character from way back when.

In short: Fuck you Vhalen. Your lore sucks and I'm glad you're gone. I hope the new Lore dev has the balls to throw any intended lore you left behind down the shitter.
