    Default Concerning Elves...

I am contemplating writing a short story (or maybe a collection of short stories) that focuses primarily on the life of one of my more heavily rp'ed toons. I don't actually play anymore (which is why I have the time to do this ), but before I start researching history, I thought I'd take a gander at what folks had to say, and so far it looks pretty good

The toon in question is a high elf (don't ask me why I've always been fascinated by elf-type characters) and am looking for more in depth info on "Life in Fewithe", if such a thing exists. When I search for anything regarding eq2, lore, elves and the like most of the hits end up taking me to other fan fic (which is fine, but I'd like to built an environment that resembles the in-game lore).

Any suggestions (aside from the links I've found here)?

Another question that's popped up from time to time regards life span. Everything I've read to date (which isn't much) suggests a high elf could live to be as much as say 500 years? A half elf could live up to say 300 years? (or thereabouts). I realize there's no "actual" answer, but I'd be interested in opinions.

Lastly, I recognize that due to game mechanics, the eq and eq2 universes are different, the eq2 universe was split when some adventurers invaded the plane of time(?)... so is it reasonable that a crossover from eq1 to eq2 should be possible (on the time line)? Since I never played eq, I'm not actually involving an original eq character, but based on time my toons story actually begins with his grandfather.

Anyways, any leads to any generally accepted lore would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I'd keep an eye on the current storyline developement concerning the build to Velious. Firiona Vie looks like she might eventually be making a comeback and she's pretty much the most noteworthy elf in the EQ universe, so it'll probably be something big.

This is the first I've heard of this. I was under the impression that eq2 and eq1 are in the same timeline, but EQ2 takes place 400 years after eq1. Rallos Zek's slaves (Erudites) were in the Nexus casting "Mo' Money Mo' Bitches (Adept III)" in their quest to harvest the Nexus's magic for use in making gold chains and they accidentally set into motion the moonsplosion and now they look like aliens and nobody seems to care that they fucked Norrath all up because they don't want to get mugged or raped I guess.

But really I think the old Intro video explains it all. Click "Story" on the character select screen.

I tried to be a bit more scientific about elfin lifespans by first looking at natural human lifespans and comparing it to what is said about half elves and then charting the differences logically. High elves were more difficult to chart since they don't seem to have a solid upper limit or age at all after a certain point.

Well... if that's not a compelling reason, I don't know what is.
