Plasma Wand Killer and Other Upgrades

As our spells scale up in damage, so would the DPS increase of the Plasma Wand... so is it worth replacing with that lvl 80 Fabled Staff? (1k proc at 2.0 proc rate, +50 dmg, +4 spell crit)

Also, I got a nice orb with 1% crit and 615 magic mitigation decrease... how much extra damage does that really amount to?

I'm actually curious about some RoK weapons vs. my current set up.

Currently sporting:

Primary > Off-hand > Ranged respectively

I'm wondering whether or not this is worth upgrading to or not, and if so, I'm thinking of keeping the Orb and ditching the NT.

Possible Upgrade:

Thoughts?

the proc does 1037 when its not red.

I'd say its an easy upgrade personally.

Yeah, I already have the stave, I just am not sure if it'll be more DPS for me or less. I was hoping someone here already had one and could give an idea of how often its proc'ing when in the perp groove - all my other proc gear goes off more than the once or twice per minute that it reads.

IMO depending on your group the wand might be more dps overall.

With chanter's VM and that proc up you're already at 33 out of 50% for a cap when it comes to spell damage. I think that last 17% could easily be obtained by us else where.

Its not the spell damage and crit modifiers I'm worried about - those are really easy to cap with RoK. I'm more so wondering if the 1k+ proc damage is frequent enough for it to be better than prior weapons from EoF/KoS.

Every part of that statement is completely false. VM doesnt count towards the cap, and plasma wand doesnt count towards to cap. Both of those increase BASE DAMAGE of the spell. So while they are up, not only do you get the added damage bonus but the cap for +damage is increased as well.

Sounds like the wand still wins, though I'm gonna test it a bunch just to see anyways.

Keep in mind most people are going STR line with RoK and you can throw away that entire line with a 2H staff since it requires a 1H for the Double Attack/Haste/DPS modifiers.

Don't know how much DPS that adds up to be, but I say that 2H is still FTL for us.

Just a suggestion, but you may want to consider taking the STA line temporarily. I'm not sure about your guilds, but i noticed that our tank can't hold aggro the same way as he did in T7 - DPS classes gained alot along the lines of crits and stuff from going to T8 loot, but tanks didnt get as much. Just suggesting that until some more upgrades come along, the deaggro might be worthit for now.
